GOTY or not? : V - Skyrim

Theres a lot of GOTY awards. Skyrim is sure to win a lot of them, along with Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, and while i don't think it deserves it, MW3.

Skyrim
Deus Ex
The Witcher 2

I think Skyrim will pull it off.

It's possible but there are a lot of games that could win it, in my opinion it'll be between Gears of War 3, Skyrim and MW3. As long as it's not MW3, I'll be happy.

Gears of war 3 probably wouldn't get it because it's just for The 360,while i believe it will be amazing,I believe the only other contender that has not been mentioned might be Assassins Creed:Revaltions. But in my Opinion it will be Skyrim.

I wish there was a maybe option because to me it's competition is Battlefield 3 and Guilds War 2 if it were to come out this year, but it most likely will be GOTY

True, but I love Gears so much. I love TES more, but Gears still has an amazing story and awesome gameplay (In my opinion)

That said Gears 3 still surpassed the record for international pre-orders for a single console exclusive game atleast a month ago. Assassin's Creed is also a great series and I really want to know if...

Considering the fact that have won GOTY 3 times in a row with Morrowind Oblivion and Fallout 3, i dont doubt them winning again.

What? That 3 year streak means they have built a solid reputation, and from the videos i have been watching, from the picks I've seen, the graphics, game play, just overall game looks great. This company has made great, even legendary games. They have a huge amount of experience, they have learned from their mistakes (hopefully). I gotta disagree. No disrespect, maybe it wont. But these guys have been releasing small bits of the game, building a huge amount of hype. And a little extra, according to Game Informer, after asking their readers what game they were excited about. A big slice of the community chose Skyrim, which means we'll have plenty of judges. :tes:

i know, i said i didnt doubt them winning, meaning i dont really think there gonna lose and i have no doubts that they will win. you simply missread my post =)

First person shooters will NEVER get GOTY in my book.
They can NEVER have AS GOOD A STORY with multiplayer in it, I don't like games that lack in one side and try to make up for it with the other.

IDK, I'd like to say yes but it's contending with some pretty heavy hitters this year. Batman: Arkham City, Deus Ex, Dark Souls, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, all of which look very promising. MW3 is a [censored] joke so don't even go there. Personally, if Skyrim had an awesome spell crafting system I would be much more compelled to say "hands down, Skyrim GOTY" but I just don't know, too much has been removed to cater to an audience that's, let's just say easier to please and amuse. I'll save my final judgment for game time, right now I'm simply not able to make an educated prediction based on the information we have.
