Now that we know we can only have ONE companion...

ONE COMPANION? Da [censored]? Seriously? :brokencomputer: Man the news of this game gets worse and worse as the days drag on... im seriously doubting its hype. Now battlefield 3 is taking over my excitement.

Anywho, my one companion will be between either a mighty mudcrab named Bob chosen from childhood (must complete multiple "sparten-esque" type test to be proven the strongest) and a forest bear named Gary. Who doesn't want a bear by their side?

I'll probably pick the companion that can carry most of my stuff. That's really all I use them for anyway.

"Here take this stuff, and now wait here while I go raid this dungeon."

I probably won't have any companions until I see how stealthy they can be...or if I don't like them too well, I'll just use them as bait.

Probably wont use any. In Fallout NV I used companions often but that was because I would set their combat to ranged weapons so with both of use using ranged weapons there was little, if any, friendly fire. In TES games I play combat/melee characters so companions will just get in the way of my sword if they are melee fighters or if they are ranged I can see my self taking friendly arrows in the back when I am fighting in close combat. Also, I didnt use companions in FO3 (until my level was maxed) because you didnt get XP points for companion kills. I would imagine Skyrim would be the same as your skills wont level (as you will use them less) with comanions helping out.

Although nothing has been said, I am still hoping for a horse drawn cart for haulilng equipment.

As for companions, I think we can have several, but can onlyi use one at a time on adventures.

I say this because Todd Howard gave very strong implications that bigamy would be a feature, signaling more than one companion.

I will probably start with a canine, and eventually seek my significant other to be a friend, to flirt, to romance, and whatever else iinvolves dancing close to the fire.

On my wish list as well, but I strongly doubt it will be in. In daggerfall it was easy to impliment because you couldn't visually see the wagon, it was just there. For Skyrim they would have to visually impliment it, which I imagine would be more difficult then what they believe it is worth.

I would chose a dog over a human companion any day.

I just read 2 books yesterday, and I started wanting to lead a band of "refugees" raiding and stuff like that.
So one companion... meh :(

Will you mainly use a humanoid or a animal companion? I will most likely use a dog my first playthrough since my character will be a mercenary with his hunting dog. My mage will use a warrior though.

One companion as in one that's more in the racial category.

You can have a pet and one companion just as Fallout 3 and Obsidian's New Vegas and not counting extra people assigned to you through quests and other sources.

I.e. Adoring fan, Sticky, NCR Ranger, etc.

If there were any monster companions (the Atronachs from Frostcrag Spire, for example), I would prefer those. Otherwise, probably humanoids.

Now that we know we can only have one companion, that means I'll only be denying one person at a time who wants to follow me around. I hate companions.... All they do is slow me down.

All depends on what the marriage feature is like. My preferred primary companion would be animal but if marriage is interesting I'll have to try and mod to allow two companions.

If you were being fecetious, bravo. You made my day.
