Two things I noticed in the QuakeCon demo and QuakeCon image

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 3:22 am

1. The quiver texture that was so blurry before seems to have changed and looks much sharper now. I think it's the same quiver, because it looks like it, but I'm not entirely sure (they are in different angles).

After: http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/NordMalewlegal.jpg, http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/NordMale2wlegal.jpg, http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/wolfelfmalewlegal.jpg, http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/woofelfmale2wlegal.jpg

2. Alvor's blacksmith seem to have new items each playthrough. A small detail that is nice I think.
Look at Alvor's table to the right of him and then compare the equipment on it from the E3 demo to the QuakeCon demo. It's different equipment each time, meaning they change from each playthrough!
I uploaded links to images and I hope that's okay; if it's not, then mods can of course remove them from my OP-post.

Woah Mr Eagle Eye! nice detective work! Idk about the 1st one but the second one goes to show that the Radiant AI can actually spawn different items placed out of inventory :D

Thanks :D
I'm unsure about the 1st one as well but I thought it looked pretty similar. Perhaps they changed the texture a bit when it was sharpened, assuming it's even the same quiver. :P

That's interesting, maybe the shop had a different random item list. That would be great if true.

You've got a keen eye.

As far as the sharper quiver is concerned, I don't think that's debatable. That Woodland hunt screenshot was one of the first we saw, and now we're less than 3 months to launch, either some technical kinks have been worked out, or they are going over stuff with layer upon layer of polish, either way, it's nice to see.

As for the items, that's a little more debatable. Now I can't deny the items are different on the table, but they could have been changed between builds, let's hope that it is "Dynamic stock" similar to what Fable did with their shops.

More importantly though, it's nice to see something like an Elven(?) Mace out in the open, instead of Iron/Rusty Iron or at best, Silver/Fake Items.

It's probably dependant on what level you are.

hnmmm the change from the iron helmet to the dwarven helmet might just be due to an increase in level of the played character. Gear scaling.

Todd's character is Level 34~ the whole time. I doubt that's it. Not to mention there's still the Elven mace, and Elven arms are on-par or of greater quality than Dwemer.

Wow, I never saw the Dunmer Female Screenshot, she's tiny...

Yeah, I disliked that in oblivion. All the shop keepers only had iron or steel sitting around even though in their shop they had dwarven or elven.

Not only in shops, but just in the world. If it didn't come from the scaled list, it wasn't better quality than Silver, with the one exception being the Elven Longsword from the Arena Champion.

Well, they weren't joking about the "micro detail" of the game. I hope to see half eaten food on the tables of houses and inns this time around. :geek:

I don't really want to derail this, but seriously, same registration day, virtually the same name, wonder how many people are going to call Sock-puppet account. If only that break-in didn't happen, I'd still have my old account.

I don't know if it would change between each playthrough, but I could see the items being dynamically selected from his stock. Could be similar to Morrowind where if you sold in expensive item, the shop-keeper would be wearing it sometimes. Perhaps the items are actually tied to their stock now which would be nice.
