Will future DLC raise the level cap?

If they do add level up perks but no more levels then we better be able to re-spec.

Wouldn't it be an incentive to start a new character and try a new build if new perks are added but no more levels?

I just like the ability to tailor my skill points to fit the situation, so I try and save atleast a few levels for whenever i play a dlc.

30 is plenty and 35 is better, but 40 is better-est :celebration:

Is it just me though or do you level up easier and quicker than fallout 3

I'd prefer to get new perks through quests and whatnot. They always felt like much more of a reward to me than the ones I received through leveling up. I wouldn't even mind if the quest perks were weak; a small reward is still a reward, in my opinion. New levels... I think I can go without.

where did you see that?

i was thinking maybe every dlc will increase you to 35 and let you use the perks introduced in DM, that way you wont become a level 50 god from all 4 increases (if all 4 up it by 5), and those who want an increase arent forced to buy certain dlc (if only DM or DM and one other increase)

that would make sense.

if they do add level up perks but no more levels then we better be able to respec

Chris Avellone blog, and lucky you, there is a perk that will allow you to reset everything once.

http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=1

"A summary of the details:

Trick Shot: Small chance in VATS you'll have a 100% hit chance and auto critical hit against enemies' targetable weapons.

Six Million Cap Man: Allows you to get three implants beyond your END limit (still a maximum of 9).

Human Goat: You can eat any Misc item in your inventory for 1 HP per pound of weight. Rounds down, not affected by Pack Rat. --> Finally, a use for Paperweights.

The New You!: One time only. Allows you to replace all skill points, SPECIAL points, facial features, hair, and name. LvL 30

Evil Eye: Lvl req 18; Other req LU 5, CH 6; Any humanoid wielding a weapon has a 15% chance to drop it when used against you. --> Liked it.

'Sole Survivor' Only works when not accompanied by any follower, otherwise adds half as much for each follower.

Burden To Bare: Armor no longer impairs movement: Strength: 8 Endurance: 6.

Nudist (Trait, but can work as a Perk). Let it hang loose and move freely as nature intended! Fast AP regen but can't wear armor (hats are allowed). --> Can't beat nudity. I believe GURPS had a variation called "Bulletproof nudity."

[Hot Temper] Eating multiple jalapenos will temporarily grant fire resistance + fire breathing as an unarmed special attack. --> Liked it.

[A Few Caps More] Extra damage and faster firing rate with revolver weapons. --> Lump in revolver reload speed with this, I'd get it."

@yoomazir
some of those are kinda stupid, lol.

still, that wouldn't really work unless it isnt introduced until the last dlc, and the last dlc would have to give you at least one more level.

i think it should be just an npc that does it, 10,000 caps, lets you re-do perks and appearance, probably not skill points though. still a one-time thing, or it could be done as much as you want but cost 100,000.

Wouldn't it be an incentive to start a new character and try a new build if new perks are added but no more levels?

not really, i dont see the point in making any more after i finish all 4 versions of the MQ. and if theres a perk that goes good with a character, id like to be able to use it.

4 ways for MQ, 4 weapon types (i hate "unarmed") and most missions that offer choices only have 2 or 3. i just dont see the point in making more than 4.

You could always replay the main quest paths and do different solutions to them.
For example, with NCR you can negotiate a diplomatic solution for BOS and/or Khans or you could kill them.
For Legion you can put Caesar or Lanius in charge.
For Yes Man I'm sure there's a lot of possibilities there too.
Not so sure about House though...
Still, there are more stuff to do, play through the main quest paths again and try something different.
Try going Very Hard hardcoe Mode with limited gear.
Write a couple of roles and roleplay.
Lots of possibilities despite there being 4 main quest paths.

role playing is no fun to me, i use VH most of the time, and i dont like "hardcoe" mode ( the ONLY thing i like is the stimpacks & limbs). and i use armor and weapons that are aesthetically pleasing to me.

as for that other stuff, its simply not enough to warrant more characters

Oh well, we all don't find the same things to be fun.
Still, new perks and no new cap will surely give me an incentive to create new characters if the perks are good enough. :celebration:

ya, i dont think anyone could make a perk that i would re-do my CL or NCR character for. (currently the only ones that are capped)

why does it randomly say unarmed? stupid word predictor
