Biggest Oblivion Pet Peeves You Don't Want to See in Skyrim

Please enter your Oblivion Pet Peeves below.

I was playing Oblivion today, and was super annoyed at trying to climb a mountain. Why do I have to circle around a mountain for miles just to find a place that has a gentle enough slope to climb? It's annoying because there's no good reason for it. Either make the mountains climbable or let me use my hands in places - something! I dearly hope this is not repeated in Skyrim. This is one of the most annoying things about the game.

Another annoying thing: character creation "helps". Why is it that when I change one thing, the computer tries to help by changing other things? If I change the color or darkness of the beard, I don't want the face to get flush or have the eyebrows change color. And why can't I control the color of the eyebrows or beard? Why can't a character with white hair have white eyebrows? And why is it so hard to make a character with pitch black skin? Why can't I get rid of that red around my high elf's eyes? Why can't I make a high elf or breton character with deep green skin? Why can't I change the color of a Kahjit's (no idea how to spell that) hair? Seriously annoying.

Level scaling.

Static leveling is so much better.

Scaling as implemented in such a pervasive nature as Oblivion, but the biggest infraction comes in the form of "Leveled" Quest rewards. Any time I have to think to myself "I should wait until Level x for the best version of the same item" is antithesis to immersion.

Lockpicking
mountain climbing
The buy and sell rates.
The fact you can't sell something very valuable because of seller gold limits.

What I found a little annoying was people staring at me. Especially when in someones house. I mean, yeah, ok... I'm in your house and you're watching I don't steal or whatever, but it's creepy!! Whenever in close proximity to anyone, it just seemed it was all eyes on you.

After playing Morrowind and being a god at level 15... I have to strongly disagree.

You weren't supposed to know the items were level-scaled.

Overuse of Level Scaling, I don't mind Level Scaling but Oblivion's was too much.

Auto Saves no longer corrupt the Save Data.

Close to no unique items outside of quests ([censored] you deadric shrines)

Very little customization in terms of gear

Psychic guards, creepy dialogue, and repetitive dungeons. That's about it.

And by "creepy" dialogue, I mean npc's staring into your soul during conversation.

Can be easily fixed by adding higher level dungeons.

The all-knowing guards. Ex: Guard: " Stop right there criminal scum, you broke the law!" Me: " We're in Bruma, I broke the law in Leyawiin! ".

BLOOOOOOOOOOM

One reason I took up Arthmoor's All Natural. The bloom in the vanilla game was just a tad bright. I could only see half my character sometimes cause it is so dang bright!

Shop keepers with unlimited gold. Sure, the seller limit may only be 200 gold, but I could sell him items worth 200 gold all day long and he would never run out of money. Also, the level scaling was off-putting. I want to feel like I've improved at some point (and Talos save anyone playing an assassin character through the main quest at higher levels).

Does it really matter if someone knew or not? It was stupid and lazy design, that's all it was. Debaser should always have been slightly-stronger than a Fine Steel longsword, Chillrend should always be slightly stronger than a Glass Shortsword, it just makes sense. Instead, design these quests with challenges appropriate to the reward.
