Won't Let me Start

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 2:11 am

Can someone please help me? I have been waiting to play this game and I just got internet so I can. However, everytime I try to play the game says the steam servers are too busy. Are they really always busy or is there a true issue in this?

Yeah, seems to be a widespread issue. The day I bought the game, too.

anyone have their fallout ini and fallout prefs they could uypload to mediafire?
i deleted mine and it wont make new ones until you start the game.

if you have already started the game you can start it via fomm, or nvse
install nvse and u can play it normally.

Might this have something to do with the 5.8 earthquake that happened in Virginia, fairly close to Bethesda? Could they have servers there that got knocked out?

I think this is entirely the problem...

No, it isn't, I just updated Civ V just fine, and other steam games play alright, only New Vegas seems to be effected.

I have put in a support ticket, but I don't expect a reply. I wonder if we will ever hear a peep out of Steam or Bethesda about what the heck is going on and why a new game disc owner, can't play their single player game after installing on their PC.

I just purchased the game today (on disc) so I had a new game for my week of vacation, didn't realize it was a steam game, looks like another game has been thrown into the "steam"ing pile.

Thanks for throwing your customers under the steam bus, Bethesda

Just got word from Steam that the issue is being fixed now. Should be back momentarily.
