What do you guys think about this. The first thing I will do after I get out of prison is look where I start, and travel on foot through the forests, mountains, volcanic tundras and plains to the other side of the map. I think this would be an amazing experience.

You will get your ass handed to you. Remember deathclaws in Fallout? Bethesda loved them. I bet Minotaurs are going to take up the "deathclaw" role. Either that or ice wraiths. Plus, there are dragons, but i think Tod said you won't encounter them right away so idk.
Good luck though. I won't do that, i will travel east and stay at the first settlement i see (escaping execution gets tiresome to most people). Then i will drink some fine ale when i'm well rested.

i know it's absolutely NOT how your supposed to play RPG's, but whenever i pick up an elder scrolls game (or any RPG for that matter..) i usually just rush my way through the story. i want to get the entire plot in my head before i start running around and doing sidequests.
i leave the adventuring for the post-game play, or the second playthrough.

Me, I will go to the nearest town, buy the equipment I need, then start exploring the map marking the places on the map as I go. Eventually getting most of the spots marked, then go into one of the major cities and start the quests. Probably do some of the faction quests and city quests before tackling the main quest.

I will be heading straight to Riften and around that region because fall forests are my favorite. I will probably explore more, but i like to save the best for last so i'll most likely be exploring after i do the main quest and a bunch of other stuff.

My first two goals will be to firstly find somewhere to live from with storage and so forth, and then go out into dungeons to locate and contract vampirism.

After installing, pray everything runs fine, no major glich.

Enjoy the entro music and opening to a new Elder Scrolls. Create my first character spending hours, reading racial's, looking at different races, and build him.

...then not sure after becoming free, maybe be guided by the main quest at first to a local town, and admire the women, that don't look like they have been hit with a bag of potatoes (Todds line)

Check out the different new and revamp skills such as enchanting, blacksmithing etc.

First thing I'm going to do it spend a ridiculous amount of time in character creation. Probably at least an hour. Aside from that I want to be spontaneous. Whatever I want to do at the time, ill do it. Although I do know one thing. The first time I come across a tavern/inn I'm going to get tanked. Then I'll probably go kill something.

Very similar to my comments in other threads:

To start the game after prison exit, I will try to do what I believe that particular character would do. In this case, my Nordic shamaness, Sibyl.

Alchemy and magic will be her forte. There would be different responses, of course, depending on where the game actually starts, whether If in a town, or in a remote area, a bit away from a town.

As far back as she can remember, she heard them whisper in her dreams, but, she knew not the meaning of the dragon's tongue. These dreams haunted her, and it seemed that her need to learn of what the dragons spoke had been burned into her very soul.

Survival is primal, and caution will be the key.

Shaken, as a result of her ordeals as a prisoner, Sibyl will move stealthly, like a hunted animal, doing those things necessary to stay alive.

Regardless of her starting point, after having been a prisoner for a while, Sibyl will want to rid herself of the filth and stink of where she had been held captive.

A water source, a lake, or stream, or if in a town, perhaps, a well would provide a water source, with which to wash, or bathe, as appropriate. A warm bath would be a dream.

Hopefully, early exploration, whether in a starter dungeon, or not, will have provided her with the fundamental tools required for immediate survival.

Her rationale will be to try to determine if the nearest town, or the town she starts in, is safe for her.

After determining that a town is reasonably safe, Sibyl will try to get a perspective on the local surroundings.

Soon, though, better clothing and equipment, as well as coin, will be needed.

She will eavesdrop on conversations in the streets, shops, inns and taverns, collecting bits of information, while gathering clues to help her determine her next move.

The main quest will not be entered immediately.

Sibyl will need time to establish herself, to understand the political factions of the region, and perhaps, to establish alliances.

But, sometimes, there are those nights when dragon whispers invade her dreams. Sometimes she awakes...shouting.

All I know is that I'll be avoiding Riverwood like the plague. And if I happen upon it, I'm turning at least 90 degrees away from it and going somewhere else in any other direction but through it.

I am determined to do something different than most of the hands-on players and Todd's demos. Determined, I tell you! :toughninja:
