Almost 100 hours of play time, and my level 23 character has misplaced his best suit of armor.

I'm not going to laugh at you. I've misplaced more things over the years than I can remember. Don't give up, you may find it again.

It's not as bad as when I misplaced the secret package in the starting of the main quest in Morrowind, a couple weeks ago (after I knew damn well that I needed it to continue the main quest).

I was actually going to mention that, lol. I did that too. I was so embarrassed.

Lol at you indeed. Don't fret, however. Due to Bandit-ing being a successful and profitable career option in Cyrodiil, you'll be sure to find it again.

Was it after you already knew, or was it on your first playthrough?
The worst part was Caius pretty much called me an idiot for reporting to him without it!

To the OP, what armor was it? Was it non-enchanted Glass, Elven, Deadric, or Ebony? If it was one of those you'll come across it again, I assure you.

The first time I did it I was on my first character. But then, just to prove what a moron I was, I went and did it a second time, a few games later. I was unloading stuff into a container in Seyda Neen to clear out my inventory and I accidentally put the papers in the container too. I had to leave Caius's house, take the Silt Strider back to Seyda Neen, get the stupid papers and get back on the Silt Strider back to Balmora.

See, this is why the Blades weren't able to protect the Emperor. It's because they let people like me into the organization. People who can't even keep track of their induction papers.

This actually aint that bad. I'll never forget the time my wizard character went to charm one of the nicer NPC shopkeepers, only to throw a 35 pt. thunderbolt at her instead! I hotkeyed the wrong spell. :whistling: Hrr-dee-drr. What made it funny was that i actually missed her by inches, and she showed no reaction on her face at all!

I was gonna say. I misplaced the secret package on my very first day in-game. Three months of playing later I saw Caius Cosades for the first time, and re-started my game.

It's a fairly common thing to lose stuff in TES games. Looking everywhere you've ever been is pretty hard :P

I thought I did that once in a cave with a sword. I had that sword since the beginning of the game and was level 13. I wasn't leaving that cave without it. My illusion skill went up 5 times using Nighteye before I found it. An axe welding bandit disarmed me but I didn't notice since I used magic more than weapons. I found it though.

Keep lookin!
