How will the forums be like when Skyrim is released?

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 8:16 am

Pretty barren I'd say.

People will be too busy avoiding spoilers and getting deep into Skyrim.

I'll miss you guys.

We will come here when we can't be playing...like at work...like I am now! LOL

Seriously, in my perfect world we would still come here to learn from each other, ask questions and get advice, and talk about how we enjoy the game.

In the real world, the complainers will go crazy, finding every little fault, important or not to complain about (because that's what complainers do) and try to ruin it for the ones who are enjoying it. The wars will begin! Sorry for the negativity, but that's what usually happens.

The forums will lack my presence and most other fans as well.

Well I'm sure THIS place will just be filled with trolls like said before.

But the "Cheats, Hints, and Strategies" will be sick with activity.

Not to mention the Modding board... but I'm going to stay away from that until I can afford a PC to get the mods (don't want to be tempted to go into debt for a few great mods).

I have to say I'm really eager to start modding myself though. JUST NEED THE PC!!! Donations anyone? :)

You'll certainly get the "OMG I CAN'T BELIVE (insert huge spoiler here) HAPPENS", as well as the "OMG THIS IS THE WORST GAME EVER". You would do best to avoid the forum all together if you don't like the game being ruined for you. I would suspect there will be some fun videos of people figuring things out as well. I fondly remember the clips from a couple people that got their copies of Oblivion a day or so early. The funniest was this one with a wolf that the player kills and it just rolls down the hill (ragdoll physics were new to TES at this time remember) so we were just in awe of this small detail! :D

Keep in mind there will be a separate "Spoilerrific" section.

Most likely raging (and not in a good way) Don't get me wrong, I think it'll turn out great, but there will be a few of those people who complain just to complain.

"WHERE IS THE DWEMER PUZZLE BOX"

This x8,000! I'm pondering going dark after the game's release because unmarked spoilers make me want to kick things. Then again I'll also be intrigued to see how the radiant AI will make other people's game different than mine. Ahh choices... It'll at least keep me busy while I'm at work and not able to play the game.

Well, thank goodness, by then we will finally have sub-topics.

I intend to stay away for a few days, unless I need technical help.

Then, when I return, I want to start checking out your screenshots, if you submit any.

And, perhaps, tell a little about how my characters are doing...

I myself will transfer to the modding forums, but will check back here every now and then. I will come here for thoughts on the game mostly.

Glorious anarchy.

Go on any forum related to any major game on it's release day, and it will be primarily full of negativity. That's because, as said, the people enjoying the game are playing the game, and the people having problems or trolling are the ones spamming the forum.

God, I hate it when people put spoilers in the title.

Who cares what the forums be like. As usual they'll be full of whiners but I won't notice because I'll be busy falling in love with an amazing game.

My guess is it will be like FO3... PC users who can't get the game to run (due to drivers or other conficting pieces of software). I remember almost not getting it in the first week simply due to the number of people saying they were unable to run it. Thankfully I just decided to give it a shot and it worked off the bat.
