Crooked body/pipboy bug... seen this before?

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:54 am

Took a long break from the game but with all the DLC real cheap on steam I decided to jump back in.

So here are the details:

- In first person my character's aim reticule does not match up with the pistol, so if I fire I miss (unless I'm in vats of course).
- In third person the character's back is arched back, kind of in a "whoa!" position.
- When I pull up the pipboy it is crooked and off to one side, see the pic I'm attaching.

What is funky is that it persists if I deactivate all mods and also it recently survived a full re-install of the game (and re-install of all mods, I keep backups).

Anyone seen this before? Sometimes it will fix itself when I equip a weapon but I cant count on that.

What mods are you using? Just disabling mods wont fix it if either it persists in the saved game or you have a replacer mod like a body replacer installed.
When you disable your mods you need to disable archive invalidated as well. Then try a new game and see if it persists. When you reinstalled
did you try vanilla first without any mods installed? Excluding DLCS.

EDIT: just temporarily fixed it by selecting a molotov. :whistling: My next plan is I might download a pose mod to see if I can default my way to health in the future if it happens.

Thanks for the help so far: yeah, that thing persists fast traveling, sleeping, changing items and clothing, but every once in a blue moon it will fix.

Here is what is really crazy: if it hapens and I open up a different save (different character) it goes on to that character, if it fixes with that character I can load up the original person with the problem and that character will be fixed until it happens again. In other words I think it is something beyond the save files, some setting or something it remembers. Maybe I can try loading via steam without the script extender and see if that might have something to do.
