Khajiit Families?

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 5:08 pm

When it comes to the Suthay-raht strain of the specie ( The most predominant in all of the provinces ) how come we never see Khajiit's associating with their close or extended family? The only exception I've seen is the Three Sisters' Inn in Leyawiin. You never hear Khajiit's talk about they're mothers or fathers or even extended family. Again the Three Sisters in Leyawiin are the only exception I've found ( I have never played Morrowind so I am unsure if anything is seen/heard in that chapter of the ES Series ) although their chit-chats are loosely just generic dialogue I'm inclined to believe the three sisters would have some sort of familial bonds with one another living under the same roof however I've never encountered a male Khajiit talk about his brother, a female talk about her brother or either of the genders speak of a mother or father ( with the exception being the hand-to-hand skill book "Ahzirr Traajijazeri" written by an anonymous author who we can presume is male ) in a personal or impersonal manner - No male for instance has said "J'shah misses his mother, he has not seen her in many years. Poor J'shah came to Cyrodiil to make a better living to send his mother some money so she can live better. Maybe J'shahs mother will come visit him someday." or a female saying "A'zini's father treated her well, he worked restlessly so A'zini could study and have an education so she could have an easy life in Cyrodiil. A'zini wishes she could thank her father in person."

Is there some sort of tradition that the Khajiit's have where as the children are sooner or later disassociated or by nature estranged from they're parents?

I apologize for any spelling and grammar errors.

You don't really see a lot of people talking about their families in Elder Scrolls... Aside from the Dunmer Great Houses in Morrowind and a few isolated incidents in Oblivion, you can hardly tell ANYBODY has a family!

I wouldn't even call the Great Houses families. At least, not anymore. They're more of a political organization than anything else.

By the sound of Skyrim, though, it looks like NPCs will have defined blood relationships with other NPCs. At least, that's what the Radiant Story seems to be hinting at.

It's nothing specific to the Khajiit, it's just a subject that doesn't come up much.

Don't ask a Senche/Senche-Raht how he's the younger brother of the the Ohmes you have been chatting up.

It might be somewhat complicated to show a Khajiit family, because unless they were all born at the same time of the lunar cycle they will all look like different types of Khajiit.

Yeah, what Lurklen said. When your brother is a housecat, your father a tiger, and your sister is an anime cat-girl, you're not very likely to:

1) All be able to show up in the same game engine for an extended period of time

2) Develop close family bonds.

I mean, it must occur pretty frequently in Elswyr that your father is basically just your mode of transportation.

I dunno. That roaming band of Khajiit that Sul and Attrebus met up with seemed pretty close to each other. Even when said anime cat chick used her senche brother has a mount.
