How to downsample icons/textures?

I play on the medium texture video setting and from time to time come across an icon or texture that is messed up looking at that level. They look just fine at the high setting but unfortunately I cannot play at that video level without reducing my game to a snails pace. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to edit them in GIMP to make them work at the medium/low texture levels. I went through and fixed them up before but can't remember what I did. :banghead:

Open the textures in GIMP and re-save them with the "Generate MipMaps" option selected. That will enable the game to display them properly, regardless of the graphical settings. However, the re-saved icons will no longer display in the CS and you will get an error message (which is safe to ignore) when you load an item that uses them.
