the shivering isle, not as bad as it seems?

hey everybody, it's fisher

i am VERY interested to hear your views of the SI, because ive heard a lot of negative feedback on oblivion NO.1 (and only) exstension

its really very dissapointing, which is why i really want to know why you think as you do about the island

personally, this is only the second itme ive entered the isle, its been a very long time, andl ast time i remember i vividly dislike the place,

my views have, for the most part changed :celebration:

im playing a female breton, and i ismple adore the massive amount of clothes the SI adds to the game, i particuley like the "finery" series, and i like how they offer most clothes in many coulors.
the museum, htough not essential , i find was a fun bit to add to the game, its exciting when you find another oddity to give to the lady, and the tour option is really cool :foodndrink:

when i talked to maurine about ""cousin leo"" , out of interest i ventured to her house, :bolt: , you know the rest...

i found, whats her name, the lady who runs "bliss books" when i discovered the chains and blood in the bed chamers , :lmao: she sure like the kinky stuff eh ?

on the subject of bliss, well , ithink its a lovley town, form the fountain at the entrance to the bridges spanning over the streame, this town is beutifull. the vibrant white stown allyways and brightly coloured people reming me a little of the imperial city.

crucible..it sort of has its own terrible beauty, the murky streets, and shady skooma svckers really add a dark heart to this shanty community.

*the choosy begger* , i found this inn really nice, the idneing area is birght and cheerfull, and the long stianed-glass windows as you climb the long staricase to your room really add a nice touch, the bedroom is cosy aswell.

*sickley berince's taphouse* is nto as much to my taste, however the area is spacious and tastefullm the bedrooms are bigger than in the choosy begger, and the strange croud that live their polish off its reputation.

i love both amber and madness amrour, the way i nwhich you cant just buy it, you have to lamost i suppose earn it makes it seem so much more worthwhile.

both the mania and demtia's countryside have, again very differant elements of beauty, the mania countryside is dark and murky, with half rotted bandit camps and vicious gnarls never far away.

mania, by comparison, is bright and vibrant, with beautifull lakes, white stone forts, and colourfull villages, yet i ifnd the creatures here more...dangerous

the side questlines are normally short and snappy, but good fun aswell, some of them also give rewards that you couldnt recive in cyrodill

the mainquestline..i agree with people that sometimes it can feel very much like your shegoraths little erand boy, always fethcing htis and that for him, but their is also some very fun quests aswell, i particxuley enjoyed " understanding madness" , its amusing to watch the guys go insane...the rewards at the end are , i feel also a lot bettwr than the ones you get for the oblvion one, i enjoy having the entertainment and changing the weather.

there are a lot more LOL moements on the isle ( im my opinoun) than that to cyrodill, i love the " pass the skooma buddy, right pal?" act, it gets me doubled over evry time.

finally ( ill stop so oyu can make oyur own comments now :hugs: ) i must say being dutch or duke , is a very cool feeling , it gives you a real feelign of power, being shegorath that make you REALLY FEEL like oyu have power, your a damn god+ ruler of the whoel, island, you can do what you want, whenever oyu want , with your guard escorts wanting on you hand and foot, and you chamberlord keeping up the sneeringly funny comments

whilst in cyrodill......you become a "champion...", it dosent actually give you anything power-wise, no you just get a pat on the back from octato and a nice hisny set of amrour...big deal- ( plus rather than the people practically kissing your feet in the SI , all you get is " its the champion!" form the guards, well atleast they sotp calling oyu stuff like iflth and what not)

please leave long comments, post on the poll, remincese, and comment on my own comments if you like!

sign you own name if oyu like :deal:

My character was a very young and na?ve elf when she encountered Sheo’s shrine. She trusted that his little joke on Borderwatch would be innocent fun. It was not. She has never forgiven herself. Nor can she ever forgive the little dweeb Sheogorath.

She has entered his isle and quite enjoys exploring it, but she will never lift a finger to assist Sheo with anything, so obviously she will not progress the SI Main Quest. She understands someone wants to destroy Sheo – she wishes them well.

As far as the lands of Mania and Dementia, she enjoys exploring both for a change. She much prefers Cyrodiil as a steady diet, but the SI is like a fun place to visit for brief periods.

Although this character will never again deal with Sheo, I have completed the SI main questline with other characters in the past. It is a fine expansion overall.

It was alright but I didn't care for the clothing or gear styles that much. A lot of the dungeons and quests were well done. The town with two copies of everyone was funny.

It was alright. I didn't particularly like or dislike anything. I just prefer Cyrodiil overall.

The Isles are my favorite place in the game.Mania, Dementia, I love them both. You got negative feedback? I thought Shivering isles was a well-received expansion.I still think so.
I've always seen the Isles as kind of a tribute to the Morrowind fans. That's just me though. Those big mushrooms remind me of the Ascadian Isles and the Telvanni.

The quests were fun.Xidilian was awesome.Completing the Xidilian quest for the first time is one of my best memories related to the game.Doing some evil from time to time feels hilarious in SI.

Sheo and Haskill are just epic.'Nuff said.Damn, Sheo literally drove me insane in Morrowind with that quest of his.

Well, when Riften found the Door to the Isles he, only started Adventuring and needed Loot badly to raise up Gold to buy a house in Chorrol,
he ventured forth, I'll only go into small detail, But he eventually met Thadon who wanted him to retrieve the Chalice, Riften knew if he sold this he would almost have enough Septims,

Anyway, eventually he traveled to Dunroot Barrow, Thadon gave him some Felldew, He ventured fort, eventually getting to the Chalice, Grabbed, Then ran, encountered some Elytra on the way, eventually he got out and Decided to get out of the Isles as fast as possible.

Sometimes he returns, Raiding Forts, and other Settlements. After he sold the Chalice and other loot he gathered at his time in the Isles, he had enough G to get a house.
