Start With Your Inventory in LR?

I prefer the way it was done in HH... having to carefully choose what to bring due to the weight restriction imposed on you. I like this way because it allows me to use some of my favorite old gear... but it also encourages me to try out the new weapons and gear contained in the DLC because I have extra room to carry them.

Well we know we won't be stripped, and as far as the other two go it doesn't really matter to me, Im just going to take my favorite weapons and armor in with me so I'll have plenty of carry weight for anything I find in The Divide. I'll probably only have about 30 pounds of gear going in so even if there is a weight restriction it won't affect me.

I'll probably carry around 90 to 100 gear in. Just my usual weapons and armor.

I liked the weight restriction, but In HH they had a reason for it (high altitudes, long distances). What reason could they have for Wholesome Toad?

If it's like OWB, I'll bring in around 600Wg in gear at least. If it has a player home better than the sink I'll bring every last item I own on the first trip.

Then again, just to annoy me, Obsidian will learn from OWB and cap the max carry weight at the current Courier's weight limit.

Ill probably just go with a a single suit of armor, and a side-arm. With a restricted amount of medical supplies, chems, misc, etc.

@King of the Wastes- Please refrain from being derogetory and show proper courtesy on the forum.

I for one would like a restricted list, not for leaving, but entering. I think i will enter with my Sonic Emmiter - Tarantula, and an americian weapon properly named "All Americian"

I'll go in with nothing but some clothes, pistol and ammo. Just like I've done (if I could) for the other DLC's. I just find it more fun to collect and use stuff I've found. Although I did not actually find it that much fun in OWB.. that was sooooooooo difficult.

To be Honest, I prefer that they strip our equipment away at the start of the DLC. My reasoning for this is that it forces you to search the areas for food, aid, ammo, and other items. But most importantly, it forces you to use the DLC's weapons and it helps you get used to them. And it also allows you to bring back more stuff since all your gear stripped at the the beginning of the add-on. That's what I would like, BUT MCA has already said Lonesome Road won't strip away your gear at the beginning of the DLC, so yeah....

If you really want to do the stuff you said above, why not just leave all your stuff then?! IIRC alot of people only took a pistol, some light armour and a few stimpaks to OWB and ended up restarting the DLC. Oh and they complained it was difficult. If other people really wanted to use the DLC items then they would.

I want the Lonesome Road to be difficult and I hope it is, that's probably why they let us take what ever we want; like OWB. Although, I don't want them to just be like Lobotosponges with their helluv-annoying Brush Guns and their super heightened ESP! :banghead:

I for one will not be taking everything, but I'll take what I think I'll need, a mixture of my stuff and the DLC's stuff. Like OWB, they probably want you to use what you have, because they knew it'd be hard.
Plus I won't be playing Lonesome Road until a week later; when Gun Runner's Arsenal is out!

No, why not just leave all your stuff?! The DLC is not forcing you to take anything! So just leave your stuff!

I liked the way HH did it but fear it'll turn out as my first OWB run where I literally ran out of ammo and healing items because there were none to buy and very little to find without being heavily invested in melee and getting the perk where enemies drop healing items I would have had to restart the dlc, so I'll bring more than I think I'll need and leave the extra at whever I make camp if its not needed. With both HH and DM I didn't have this issue since both had enough scavengable supplies to easily get you through tham if you enter OWB light as I did you going to have a heck of a time since theres so little to scaveng especially considering the tough enemies within it made combat fun until you realive your getting no ammo for your guns and melee isn't a good idea anymore since you fighting groups of 6-9, so I'll pack a little on the heavy side just in case.

Eh, don't care. If it strips me down to my underwear, I'll do what a courier does best, use my package. :hubbahubba:

If it doesnt strip us, and the weight limit isnt like 30 lbs, I'll likely take along my Combat Armor Mk ll, my modded Sniper Rifle, and a more close quarters combat gun as well.

Of course everyone will bring what they want, but sometimes they can't because of the way the DLC is designed. Try bringing whatever you want in Dead Money. That aside, perhaps you are saying this because LR is not supposed to remove our equipment. I was unaware of this fact when creating the poll.

You make a good point, but it can be very unappealing to deliberately leave behind your best gear and try out the new content in the DLC when your older gear is much better. I think stripping the equipment gives the developers a little more control over the experience they are trying to craft for the player with the DLC.... and in some cases this may be more desirable. It would also encourage players to try out the newer content/equipment in the DLC.

More than anything, I'm just curious if people enjoy having restrictions placed on them in regards to their inventory when starting DLC. After playing through all of the DLCs recently, I was struck by how different they were... in many ways. And of course one thing that was different between all of them was how they handled the player's starting inventory.

hmmm i dunno what i'd like cause dead money after that i could hit a fiend between the eyes from 300 meters with the police pistol and hh i took my trail carbine and siera madre armour and was fine but OWB was a [censored] cause i took my trail the siera madre stuff a .45 pistol and joshua graham stuff but it still took more than a few stim's to mess all the stuff up so LR i'll probs take somthin similar if not the same as owb depending on when i get or cause i might wait till GRA comes out and get loads of NEW weapons and take them with me

They have been saying no dlc but Dead Money would take your stuff away for a long time now.
