Resist Magicka

Got 50% resist magicka, receive 100% weakness to fire effect: Will it reduce the effect to 50% weakness to fire or is it 50% chances to block the weakness entirely? Also, if the weakness spell is cast OnSelf, does it change the result in any way?

Funny how I never bothered using any of the weakness spells before.

50% resist magicka means you have 50% to get no damage every time you are hit with a spell. Atleast that`s how it`s currently working for my character. A bit like spell absorption, except without the magicka gain.

100% weakness to fire means you`ll get double damage from fire spells... in case they pass the resist magicka check.

Not exactly. Unlike in Oblivion, resist magicka in Morrowind doesn't apply to elemental damage so it does nothing for fire damage.

I see, I'll have to rethink a few things it seems... Anyway, thanks for your help!
