Dual Wielding: Attacking with both weapons confirmed

Post » Tue Aug 30, 2011 9:39 am

After listening to what sounded like a radio show or podcast where someone had played Skyrim at PAX, they mentioned dual wielding and said that tapping both triggers made you attack with both weapons(there was some hand motion he did with this to show what it was, but it's a podcast/radio, so we can't see it). According to the guy it "[Censored] [Censored] up!" and he said that one of the Devs walked by and said "Yeah, we call it 'The Meat Grinder'"and it apparently "Kills people in one hit". So, yeah. Attacking with both weapons confirmed.

I thought that was the point of dual-wielding? "Meat Grinder" sounds great all the same! :)

so...I can hit with both weapons dual wielded? I was under the assumption it was one at a time. If this is the case, this easily makes up for the lack of blocking. Dual wield FTW

I think me(and most of the forum) thought this too, apparently not though, which makes me all the more excited for dual wielding.

We knew that already. I asked Nick Breckon and he said yes. Weeks ago.

Yeah this is great for the berserker class who just wants to charge in full damage.

I may do that on my second playthrough.

You can't attack at the same time. You press one, then the other, then the other... hence the term "grinder". A grinder requires gears... so you have one gear on the left, one on the right... and if pressed at the right sequence will create a grinding motion, but you cannot fire both at the same time... from what one of the pax reviewers wrote. Still a slash slash effect would be made creating a grinder which should be pretty cool. I'm glad it might take some technique to do and timing, not just hold the buttons both down and move forward with an auto-meat-grinder might be a little too easy/cheap.

No, that is someone doing spinning slash with one sword(like OB's power attack).

@madmole can we have a link please? Also That statement contradicts what the person in the vid I posted said, where you just have to tap both of the bumpers to do the attack.

Maybe you should watch it in a higher resolution or something.

I thought that was the point of dual wielding. If you could only use one at a time it wouldn't be a whole lot better than rapidly swinging a single weapon.
