Personally I'm happy with when they told us.

Like a day before it came out. Then I could have been like "HOLY [Censored] A NEW ELDER SCROLLS GAME!? COMING OUT TOMORROW!? SDHFDGHDFGHDSFHJSDFKJKJ*has stroke from excitement*" But then I would have no idea what the game would be about.

I don't hate the wait but it would be awesome to find out a day before like JerZeyCJ said. I'd also be able to answer my own questions instead of slowly sipping knowledge from the information stream. Then again, reading about killing insects is going to make killing them a lot cooler because of the hype. =D

I'd actually prefer to be told maybe twenty years later, based on my experiences with books and movies. Its always best to discover something long after people have stopped talking about it (so you don't, for example, get spoiled by trailers) but when you can also find a bunch of supplementary material after you're done. Imagine if you started playing Skyrim with no preconceptions, and then BAM! Dragons out of nowhere, what the hell? Then you finish the game, find a massive and insightful anolysis that sheds new light on what you just finished playing, and then you install the best mods ever made for the game, et cetera, et cetera.

Wow you guys.

I've been actively waiting for the World of Darkness MMO since November 2006 and all we know about it so far is that its an online game about Vampires.

You guys waited a few months and HD trailers and play footage started raining on you like candy.

Back in my days, we also had to walk to school barefoot, and it was uphill - both ways! :mohawk:

A little patience and all will be well!

Hey, we also know that the WoD MMO will not be based on the nWoD!

I'd say a day before it was released, but then I wouldn't have been able to ask for vacation time :P.

So... let's say a week before release, that would have been a better time frame for knowing Skyrim was coming. As it is, the waiting is torture. (though Deus Ex: HR is keeping me busy atm)

I have no real preference though I think I'd be more interested in the game if the announcements had been significantly closer to release. In some respects I've had too much time to think about it.
