Rocc Ice-claw is a Nord of very few words. When he was 3 years old, while in Whiterun, his grandmother, who raised him, blessed him from her trinket, a magical trinket of Frost. She died shortly after, leaving him to fend for himself, b ut left him her trinket. Being only 3 years old, he was picked up by a man named Grerud High-Wind, who taught him the ways of the Axe.
Rocc mastered the axe at a very early age, being able to wield 90 pound training 2-handed axes by the age of 16. He then picked up dual wielding, learning the art of slicing his enemies in a furious rage.
On the eve of Roccs 20th birthday, he celebrated with Grerud and some townsfolk at his farmhouse. That night, on that cold, windy night, a group of Dunmer Morag Tong bandits ambushed his farm, slaughtering all of the livestock, and took the life of Grerud also. Waking up at 3 in the morning to the sound of sheep being slaughtered, he grabbed his fathers axe and ran outside, only to find him laying face down on the ground, with a dagger stuck to his chest, pinning a note to him. Rocc picked up this note, and it read:
"You have what we want. We will obtain the amulet of Khaz'shanti. You have 3 days. We will be back."
Stunned, and highly confused, Rocc tried as hard as he could to think of what they would be talking about; he had no amulet, except..his grandmothers amulet! He hadn't wore it in years, Grerud buried it with her after she died of natural causes some 15 and a half years ago.
Running down to her grave, he dug up her coffin, only to be pushed back by a pulsing wave of bright blue light as his shovel hit the wooden door of her coffin. Bracing himself as he got up, he peered over the hole to her body; the amulet glowed with a bright blue light, and then it diminished. It was as if the light had just gone out. Rocc picked the amulet up, and held it in his hand. At this point, he felt a very strong calling, and heard in the back of his head "Ice-claw, Ice-claw" chanting like a beautiful song. He felt awakened, as if an inner strength of an entire clan had been reborn in his heart.
But, he had to put that aside for now; his livestock, father, and his wellbeing, had just been taken away form him by Dunmer assassins. He had to seek revenge. He had to find out why they wanted this amulet. So he made his way to Vvardenfell, as he recognized the extremely light bonemold armor that they were wearing.
Upon reaching Vvardenfell, Rocc stepped off the boat in Khuul, Rocc was again ambushed by Argonian blademasters, who threatened his life, asking him why he was in "their land". Absolutely confused, and unaware of the Argonian uprising in Morrowind, he was put in shackles, and drug back to a ship, and shipped back to Skyrim.
And this is where Roccs story begins in Skyrim. Who were the assassins? Why did they want his only possession - an amulet of his grandmothers - and what is this power that was unlocked within him upon touching the amulet?
Skyrim holds many answers, and he must find them out.
