Upgrade for the Sink

Post » Wed Aug 31, 2011 1:44 pm

Frist off, I just wanted to say that I love the Sink added in by OWB. It has almost everything one could possibly want in a base. However, seeing as how they were created in Big Mountain, I think that it would be benificial for there to be a Dead Money vending machiene in your base so that you can make some basic purchases. I dont mean one exactly like the one in the abandon bunker, but perhaps a prototype one that accepts cap (Mobius predicted that they would be the new currency) and only sold some basic stuff. It could potentialy be added into the part of your base with the cola vending machines.

Such a machine being inside Big MT would definitely make sense, but I'm under the impression that the devs wanted to avoid any items/objects in one DLC that directly requires another DLC in order to function, otherwise people without that particular DLC would be screwed. Granted, the Ghost People outfit and the holograms break this rule, but the hazmat suit from Dead Money cannot be equipped by the player whereas the one in OWB is a whole new object that happens to look similar. As for the holograms, they are just NPCs with a visual effect added on top.

Similar to what they did with the suit and holograms (as you mentioned) i mean a machine that function similarily to the DM one. perhaps accepts caps and only sells basic stuff (minor health items, generic ammo, etc)

Oh the power of mods...

Anyway Sawyer said a while ago that they can't patch DLC content. So, sorry.

Too bad. I guess the Sink will never be made to be companion friendly. So, a visit to the Sink will be a once in awhile event for me so I don't have to re-recruit companions all the time. Maybe this will change if I decide to travel as a loner, otherwise the Sink does not really fit in as a main base camp if you're gonna travel with companions.

Well that explains why the Holorifle's condition isn't patched (not that I want it to).

Hey, I would give up the invincible nature of the holorifle in trade for a companion friendly update for the Sink.
