I would think they would be in.

They were always cool to kill in caves. :P

There needs to be a "Great Goblin" in the mountains. :)

Agreed.

I'm glad I brought this up. It's a good change of pace from discussing all the major races, over and over again.

Goblin fight:

Goblin1: "I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than you."

Goblin2: "How could you I just gave birth to you."

*Awkward silence*

There's some goblin culture for ya.

Science demands that we find facts to prove one way or the other! So, if not for me, find gobins... FOR SCIENCE!

Same here. They're really cool in Oblivion and I'd love it if the game explored their culture more, like goblins that weren't hostile to you that you could talk to and get quests from and learn more about their ways.

This would be perfect for me. I agree 100%.

I believe they're starting to develop a culture, but the problem is that they are very aggressive expansionists in a land already populated. If no men, mer or beast-folk existed I think goblins would have a pretty defined culture by now, but due to their habit of attacking trespassers/traders they've become to be regarded as a nuisance rather than a race.

There is no way there can be goblins in Skyrim, I killed them all in Oblivion so they are extinct now. Sorry guys.

Seriously I don't mind them. They are one of the better looking modeled monsters from Oblivion (trolls looked like apes that rolled around in dumpsters filled with leaves and mud all day). I'd rather see something new though than another rehashed old creature from Oblivion though.

My question is whether or not there will be goblins in the game, and, if so, to what degree will their culture be apparent. They're one of my races in every fantasy game I play, so I look forward to seeing them again.

It is very likely in my opinion that Goblins will be in Skyrim. There is a tribe of peaceful Goblins in the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shadowkey:Fearfrost_Caverns, which are very near from Skyrim Border.

Also, Goblins are intelligent creatures. From what we know about them, there are Goblin clans, and Goblins have a tribal, probably totemist or animist culture. It is not known whether some Gods are universally worshipped by all the tribes.

What we know is that they are smart enough to craft things, to grow mushrooms, to cook and possibly brew, to breed rats and train durzogs, to build a military hierarchy, to fashion magical staves and enchant them, to lockpick, and possibly to erect an obelisk and engrave it with magical runes. Also, we know that t least some tribes worship totems, yet their exact nature and purpose remain unknown.

I think I have read that Goblins are considered as full citizens by rights in Orsinium, but failed to find any source. Could someone confirm this or is it a product of my frenzied imagination?

Yet we know very little about them or their language.

I really hope we'll learn more about them this time, as well as about Rieklins. And I hope there will be some Goblinish armors and weapons set...

Personnally, I never considered them as there-to-be-killed-and-then-looted hinders in dungeons, but as a non-playable race. But this also hold in general for many creatures I encountered in Tamriel. Dreughs, Grahls, Spriggans, Minotaurs, Xivilais, even Udyrftyktes and Will-o-the-Whisps...

I've always loved how in-depth Oblivion's goblins seemed when you looked at their society and hide-outs closely enough. I hope they return and we see more of them... but no more level 40+ goblin warlords.

Yes, this was a striking example of how a disastrous level scaling could generate horrible non-sense, from the point of view of the lore...

I'm reckoning Goblins in the warmer south near the borders of Cyrodil and Reikling in the icy north.

Goblins don't have much of a culture. They're basically a step above animals haha. You never come across goblin art or writing. I wouldn't be surprised to see them flinging their poo.
