Questions From a Newbie

Post » Thu Sep 01, 2011 5:15 pm

Well, hello. I'm new to the forums and I guess to Fallout aswell. You see, I recently purchased Fallout 3 on my 360 and ended up loving it. I just finished the game but I only got to level 14 (I decided to finish the main story before doing most quests, then I would have something to after I completed it. I came to realize you cannot continue after the ending.)

Anyway, I really want to get FO:NV but I have a few questions.

First if all, should I get it for my 360 or wait a few months until I get a PC that can handle this game?

What kind of mods are available for the PC version?

Will I be able to continue doing quests after I complete the main storyline?

How should I go about playing this game? Should I try and finish the storyline before most quests or should I take on quests as they come at me.

Thanks in advance! I've been lurking these forums for some time and I love how you guys discuss certain factions, chracters, etc.

If you are getting a powerful enough computer to run it then get it. I'm waiting until some sort of special edition is released with all dls then I will be getting in on the pc. The game uses steam on pc.

For Fallout 3 you can keep playing after the end of the main quest if you buy the DLC "Broken Steel"

Sadly for New Vegas there isn't anything like that and you cannot keep playing after finishing the main quest.

As far as mods almost anything imaginable can be made into a mod, but not everything you can imagine has been made into a mod. I can't even begin to describe all the things mods can do, but it greatly extends the playability of the game.

As far as waiting a few months to get a PC, I say buy the Xbox 360 one, and then later the PC one. I don't know the price for Xbox 360, but for PC it is a measly 20$

I was thinking the same thing until devs made an announcement that there will be no special edition with all of the DLCs. So keep waiting if you want but it isn't going to happen.

Most of the Fallout games are known for their notable endings... They would summarize the fate of factions and locations that the PC affected. FO3 is extended beyond the original end by the DLC Broken Steel, but the other Fallout games for the most part, end at the end. FO:NV is not supposed to get any Past-the-End-Extend from DLC.

If you have a suitable PC, then the PC is they way to go IMO.

I meant like a sale on steam...
