Carry weight?

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 8:46 am

Firstly I appologise if this has already been posted I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on it specifically.

So they have taken the attributes out or so I am to believe from what I have heard. So will the carryweight slowly increase as we level up or will there be specific ways of increasing it? I am aware of one perk from pickpocketing that will increase it by 100.

so anybody have any thoughts on this?

Stamina increase capacity.

and since you can choose to level stamina regardless of actual skill usage, you can have a bookworm mage carry more than a warrior usually going around in full plate

Cheers thanks for the info.

I guess it makes sense, kinda. It's just I usually like to have a high carry weight with heavy armour users as I like to take almost everything I can get my hands on ;)

And besides, to carry alot of stuff, you'd need it for heavy armor users for swinging weapons and the like. :P

That would be one very fit mage lmao. Not to mention a pretty bad mage if most of their attribute points are being put into stamina >_<

Health: Pain and bodily damage tolerance (not necessarily physically fit)
Stamina: Physically fit, athletic

Sad thing is that said bookworm has no use for the stamina seeing it can't kill stuff due to lack of magicka or is dead due to a lack of health.

On release day I can guarantee you that people be complaining "OMG HOW COME I CAN'T CARRY THE ENTIRETY OF NIRN IN MY POCKET THIS SUKS I WAN TO TAK 500000 WEAPON WIT ME AN 50000000 POTION".

From Oblivion to FO:NV I had 80 - 90% of my weight limit free at all times. You're able to drop things for a reason. Make a god-damn stash and take what you NEED.

..how is that lame. Strength used to increase encumbrance. Now stamina does. Lame right?
Some people will literally complain about anything.

Stamina increasing carrying capacity makes literal sense and is logical. The word "stamina" means perseverance, how far you can go, your limits. Encumbrance fits right into that.

I would just like to add that being strong doesn't really mean you can carry more for a long period of time.

Sure a strong person can lift really heavy things, but it's the people are very physical fit and have a lot of stamina who can carry a lot for long distances.

Oh no one's going to contest that. But the new system does make it possible to create a strong/fit mage (or mana bursting barbarian for that matter-and equally useless) regardless of skill usage. As opposed to popular OB mods that made your character as you played them (strength only increasing if you used STR-related skills).

Dont mind me pro-no attributes people, its just me wishing they "fixed" attributes (like the aforementioned OB mods did) instead of removing them altogether. :whistling:

There's also that pickpocketing perk that increases it by 100.

And I'd be suprised if the merchantile perk ark in Speechcraft didn't have something else that dealt with carrying stuff.
