Spears/Pikes in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:57 am

In Oblivion, we didn't have spears or pikes (which is too bad because they're my favorite weapon choice in video games.)

Does anyone know if they might be included and if so will they have a new classification or old one (such as blade or blunt?)

Thanks for the info, saved me some time so I don't have to browse the internet aimlessly looking for an answer.

Here's to hoping for the halberds/polearms then.

Polearms are the same as Halberds, sort of? I think.

Halberds have a spike/spear tip on the back end of the blade while polearms usually don't.

Two of the draugr have two-handed axes that look kind of like a halberd just much shorter (think they're called bearded axes), but doubt there will be true halberds.

There are two different concept art pictures of a Nord Guard of some sort using a Halberd, and Vsions said something about halberds once. They're in.

Halberds would be awesome, it seems like more variation will be in Skyrim from Oblivion, but Morrowind will have more variation than Skyrim. xD

Spear/pikes require a unique combat system to implement well. Including them, just like Unarmed as a skill, would have required more time than wad reasonable.

I wonder how Halberds are gonna work.

Favorite pole-arm by the way. Part axe, part spear.
