The probability any of us who use these forums would live if there was an all out nuclear war is extremely low. If I was given the oppurtunity, I would take a rocket into space and wait a month or 2, with enough provisions and fuel, let the Fallout clear and come back to Earth. By this time I would also be an astronaut so its cool. Then I would just live the rest of my life out finding food.

Most of us would be dead within 2 weeks.

The rest of us would wish that we were; and likely wouldnt have to wait long for that wish to be granted.

Well there are still some old fallout shelters from way back when why not use those grab alot of food and water with other supplies like medicine, flashlights, ect.

Oh, good thing those are so conveinient. When you came out, you would think: ... this svcks, then get sick most likely and die of that. You would be running at the shelter, then all of a sudden it gets really dark. You are unaware of what is happening so you continue on. A few days later you die from an unknown cause which turned out to be radiation poisoning.

You have to realise real life is very different than fallout. A nice new city called shady sand won't just spring up and be all happy dandy for the most part.

I know that! Shady Sands in real life?! Would be pretty cool but won't happen and obviously no body will come out right away

i would probably survive the blast. I live near LA , far enough not to get hit by the bombs and close enough that I'm not near any other important targets and the wind will blow radiation away.
I have about 2 weeks worth of spam, beans, can peaches and water but after that i would have to pack my 44. and ACR and go hunting.....

the svcky part is i have a family to feed...not my wife or anything but my mother and 2 sisters...getting us all fed would be a real challenge in itself and im not sure if im up for it.

i live in a apartment and there arnt any animals near besides stray dogs and cats that would probably be eaten already. I wouldn't harm a good person in anyway but if it came down to it i would defend myself. i would likely move closer and closer towards the ocean or mountains only if people arnt there already, destroying the ecosystem. I would take shelter and only move my family at nights. It would be chaotic with all the gangs around my area who would already have gotten together and started raiding houses and other survivors. If im still not dead

I would look for a farm or other settlers to kick it with, just until all the gangs die down. I dont have much skills besides repairing a car and rifle training so i would offer myself as a body-guard or lookout for a farm that takes me in but if i have not died of starvation or getting shot or something.

After about 5 years all the chaos would likely die down and Farms / towns would start popping everywhere. I would travel the land and live my life as the lone wonderer exploring the world and having adventures n all....lol it sounds corny but still its what i would do

How much warning do you think you're going to have?

You're going to have to fight panicked hordes for any supplies you get, and then get to the shelter. You can't safely leave the shelter for 2 weeks without facing dangerous levels of radiation.

I'm in the UK. If its a Russian Launch I have 3 minutes; Assuming that the old civil defense warning infrastructure is in place and still works - Not only is there a possibility its been decommisioned, some cities refused to install the stuff in the first place.

Realistically, I'd be a fine red paste on some concrete.
Wishful-thinkingly, I'd hole up in the university halls down the road from me that are built like a FORT, no lie. And I'd pretty much sit around eating sweets all day until someone shot me.

Find a group to settle or hang with your friends, family, random group of police men or local military a family w/e
Be with a group similar to you,

no offense!
if your a nerdy upper class girl and you start hanging with a group of thugs who dont even speak your language after awhile they will start thinking "Whats this person doing here again?"
you gota be with your group, your tribe, people your familiar with, people that can read you as good as you can read them.
Groups are the key to survival and you will see alot of them

the key to surivial is mind set. You can survive as long as YOU want too,

BUT again eating sweets all day until someone shoots me doesnt sound like a bad way to go lol
