Where Did You Start Leveling

Post » Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:12 am

Hey, the title pretty much explains the point of this thread but I basically want to know where all of you usually start leveling or general areas/cities you like to begin with early game for FCOM or OOO. I myself finish as much of the few dungeons near the IC and then move on to Weynon Prior and get my horse and anything else useful from them. Then I usually kill stuff around Chorroll but I can not really do any of the Fighters or Mages guild quests around there unfortunately and the venders to sell to are crap but at least not as bad as Bruma. So, where do you guys usually play first? Do you usually like to find a city that you can start doing mage/fighter guild quests easier, or do you like to start out in easier dungeon areas... Maybe you simply have a preferred area you like to quest in first or maybe you like to attempt as many main story quests as you can like Kvatch? Post what your early game (lvl 1-10) usually consists of.

Thanks!

I tend to play heavy-armor-wearing, 2-handed sword-wielding fighters more than anything else. I often do the upper levels of Vilverin, slowly and patiently, running back out if I have to. I can usually make it all the way down to the spectral enemies after about an hour or hour and a half of real-time play. I usually go over to Sideways Cave after that. I can do about the first two levels in there. I'm probably about level 5 by that time. After that, I just wander around and follow my nose. I'll wander around the edges of Lake Rumare and go into any fort or Ayleid ruin that catches my fancy.

Many of my characters head into the IC about this time to sell loot and join the arena. I'll do four or five arena matches (I generally die by about the fifth one). I'll be anywhere from 8 to 10 by the time I finish my first batch of arena matches. If I have a new quest mod installed I may start it now, if I can. If not, I'll head back out into the wilderness.

I have generally addressed this problem by adding quest and location mods. So, AFK Weye and Lake Rumare add a lot of XP-generating content close to home. Some other mods adds more low-level dungeons to IC Isle. The acquaduct and fountain mod is great for early leveling close to home.

Thanks for the replies, I have AFK Weye which I forgot to mention I do actually enjoy but I have only gotten the first good part finished (no spoilers here). What cities/towns did you seem to find best at early levels? Bruma honestly seems to be the easiest that I have found but the town itself kind of svcks so I avoid it.

I use New Roads and Bridges to go to Cheydinhall by road and join the Fighters Guild there, do the quest for the guild, then join the Mages Guild and do the recommendation quest. I will also walk from Weye to Anvil, and just clear the road, and attempt to depopulate Bandit Camps.

I start at Leyawiin, talk to the count, complete the Mazoga Quests, become Knight-Errant, hunt for blackbows at Undertow Cave, Rockmilk Cave and Telope, sell the black bows to the count for 100g each, etc till I am lvl 8-10 or so, then I explore.
