Burlap is a woven fabric. How would you define cloth?

yes burlap is a fabric but its not cloth. Cloth is made from wool or cotton. Burlap is a coarser material made from jute.

A cloth is any material woven together from individual strands.

No. Thats fabric. Cloth is a type of fabric that uses wool or cotton. Burlap is another fabric that uses jute. How is this not getting through to anyone...

By that definition, if I cut bologne into thin strips, and weave them together, that makes bologne cloth?

I can't find any definition online that specifies what type of material should be used.

Cloth: a pliable material made usually by weaving, felting, or knitting natural or synthetic fibers and filaments.

Textile, cloth, fabric - they are all virtually interchangeable. Nowhere does anyone define cloth as only being wool or cloth.

Not to mention the fact - why does this even matter to you? Whether you consider it a cloth or not doesn't change the fact that the map is going to behave and feel exactly like a piece of coarse cloth.

- @lloydo15 It's not cloth, it's a heavier material. And yes you get it.
I read this as heavier than cloth material..not sure what the OP was reading out of it but..., what is heavier than cloth but not cloth and would be badass for a map to be printed on...?

Cloth- Woven or felted fabric made from wool, cotton, or a similar fiber

Burlap- Coarse canvas woven from jute, hemp, or a similar fiber, used esp. for sacking

Two different things. Cloth and fabric are not interchangeable. There are no "cloth stores" just fabric stores.

And why does it matter? Because this is the topic.

Funny, the dictionaries, encyclopedia, and other resources cannot confirm your definitions, but they do confirm everything I've said. Oh well, in your world, cloth can be whatever you want it to be. :)

The words fabric and cloth are used in textile assembly trades (such as tailoring and dressmaking) as synonyms for textile.

DCDeacon Pete Hines :
@RealNQD Ah. They're referring to being able to turn off quest targets (which you can do), not the compass (which you can't).
