Skyrim Architecture

It is to be assumed that Skyrim will take influence largely from Scandinavian architecture, but what sort of cities/towns do you expect or hope to see? Anyway, for starters, I'll just post a few architectural pieces from Scandinavian regions and similar areas such as Scotland that look interesting.

Personally, one thing I want to see is a huge mountain fortress a la Helms deep

And of course for Bethesda to give it their own otherworldly spin, something they pretty much avoided with Oblivion.

In Bruma they build houses partly underground to utilize geothermal energy. In Scandinavia in the winter when air temperature is between +5 to -40 centigrades, ground temperature two metres below ground level remains at about +4 centigrades. So if your house has good walls and the bottom floor ground warms it up to +5, you only need to warm up for the rest 15 to make it comfortable. Obviously Beth used this information when developing Bruma. But of course, who's to say what the underground temperature in Skyrim is, or whether this fits with their architectural ideas.

BTW, i think zero fahrenheit (sp?) is sbout -30 centigrades, and 100 fahrenheit is +37 centigrades, right?

I expect it would probably vary. In the South where all the mountains are it'd probably get much colder, but in the North, I expect it is probably much warmer, but still colder than it would generally be in Cyrodill.

Bump. I want to know what sort of architecture you are hoping for/expecting. Are you concerned that there might be limited styles? I can't think of much interesting Nord style architecture.

I somehow have a feeling that in Skyrim it may feel as though you have walked into Bruma-O-Clock.

I've always like some of the concept art they had for Skyrim over at Tamriel Rebuilt.

And while were at it there's some cool http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=conceptart§ion=15270, and also the http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=conceptart§ion=15267.
