So wait. Are we waiting for a QuakeCon demo or a Pax one? Perhaps both?
I assumed they forgot about QuakeCon.

They haven't defined the exact contents of this video (as far as I know), so nobody knows what they are waiting for. All we know is gameplay.

I wait for that video too, but seriously people need to chill! And some respect to the creators of this awesome game would be good, especially from those who want to spend time with it! People who say things like shooting them, don't even deserve the video, nor the game, that's my opinion. That kind of agressivity really makes me sick!

They're humans too, sometimes things aren't going according to plan! OK they're late, and what happened? They are working on something you'll get for free!!! So be patient! Good things come to those who wait!

Though I have yet to read posts saying Todd should be handled the way some influential american politians would have Mr. Assenge gone, if they exist they only showcase the astronomical lunacy of their authors.
Still, I have yet to read one disrespectful comment on this thread - possibly because the mods beat me to it.

The site crashes

Ah yes, trying to watch the Skyrim trailer with the gameplay footage in it on the day of release was quite the challenge...

 Me too. What does everyone expect though? I would bet it will be the same walkthrough but with a different character.
The difference is, I've already seen the QuakeCon video. :goodjob:

You are so wrong. We've been following this right from the Quakecon announcement months ago when Pete said "we'll get an HD video out by the end of the week". After that, Pete has said loads of things about when it'll be here on his twitter. GStaff gave us a date as well.

No one has provided any source? We have. Read the previous threads. :shakehead:

I've read all the threads and I'll I've seen are people claiming he's said that with no links. It's possible I missed something though.

They said right before they showed it at quakecon we will be able to download this in all its hd glory. That pretty much sums it up to be that 40 minute demo, and it damn well better...

QuakeCon announcement months ago? I'm not sure I follow. I know that at QuakeCon, when Pete was on stage and asked everyone to not record the demo and put their phones away, he said "we promise we'll put this out in all its HD glory." He never said exactly when. Well at QuakeCon in early August he never said when. I know after QC, he said "around PAX" and Gstaff said "by the end of Summer."

He tweeted ?the end of the month?, if memory serves me well, which I guess roughly coincides with ?around PAX?.
Like I said, Pete's End of the Month is on a collision course with Nick's End of Summer, so they're bound to merge somewhere along the line.
Perhaps Pete meant September then.

I'm not disputing that, I saw them say it with my own eyes. (And also heard him). (Not with my eyes).

However we're not sure if, for example, the last update we have (from Bethesda on these forums in the last thread) was talking about the QuakeCon video. I've noticed they're all referring to it as a gameplay video now. It could be the delay is around doing something new.

It was Gstaff who said "end of Summer", but yea they'll end up merging anyway. I look at it like this...Eurogamer Expo starts on the 22nd, so the video will be something to tide us over for a few weeks. It'll actually be better for news gap purposes.

Yeah, and they even used to word "promise" for the video by the end of August. I'm guessing will have it by next Tuesday or not at all.

Yeah, but now we get everything we've seen, plus a little more, with a clear-crowd free Todd voice-over all on a single 1080p video. I really want to see it.

When did they use the word "promise"? I asked Pete Hines over twitter and he said they "hoped" it would be done by the end of August.

Nick just tweeted, "First day of Labor Day weekend and the front of the parking lot looks like a Monday morning. #BethesdaHardWorks"

It's major crunch time and i'll definitely cut them slack on this video.

I'm just curious.

Is it confirmed it'll be the Quakecon demo, or are people just speculacting?

We don't know, dalavita. They definitely previously said gameplay would be put online at QuakeCon, but obviously a lot of time has passed since then. We know from Twitter they've recorded something new - but we don't know if that's a new area.

Basically, these people are working their asses off to a) make the game and B) publicise it. As somebody just mentioned, on labour day weekend. So let's see what happens.

It's just speculation. Sort of. It'll the same demo, just maybe not the same exact footage. Pete said at quakecon when asking people not to record it that they would put "it" out in all it's glory. Which implies that it will be the quakecon demo, but you can't be sure.

I just assumed that because so many people recorded/advertised/watched the leaked footage (yes, I watched it too) even after being kindly asked not to, that they decided to do a "screw you guys" on us. Being honest I wouldn't be offended if they did take that approach.

They were standing in front of thousands of quasi-fans... in the age of mobile phones with digital cameras.

You'd have to be a pretty naive Pete to expect everyone to comply! :)
