On oblivion when i got an add on i was the king of a castle and you could off make soldiers to follow you and you also had a servant. What im gtting into is that i think that in skyrim if you can get a castle you can hire more servants and also get news around so people can visit or tour the castle. also doesnt matter how much days pass by but you can upgrade your castle until it finally becomes a city and you can train the people that wants to become soldiers. Also another extra they should put is pets either capture the from the wild or buy whatever as long as we get pets (house and travel pets) and more customized character well thats all i could think off what do you guys think is it good or bad also tell me what you guys hope to see in the game i like to hear ideas.

It would be WAY cool to do that. But if there is something like this it will just be a side thing. After all, the game wasn't made so you can run cities.

When they say you can do anything you want they mean within bounds of their created world.

This isn't a become king and ruler of a whole province simulator. By all meams you can roleplay or mod it in.

I definitely don't want resources into a build your own city/stronghold minigame.

Small settlements like Raven Rock was fine though.

Would be very nice but the effort required to program/ design all that doesn't seem worth it to me. DLC possibly?

It's strange that I had the same idea of making a city, but sadly it would be to much content to be able to work.

As for pets we do get dogs and not sure if that is all we get

and for a more customized character I assume you mean the pc. You can get tattoos, scars, and many others things

Dogs have been confirmed as companions and it seems the character creation process have been improved as well. I like your idea for a growing castle too.

I like the idea of castles, but I think you should do a massive quest in obtaining it like this: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1202668-quest-the-peasants-revolt/page__p__17925336__fromsearch__1#entry17925336

I think that would be a pretty cool DLC. Save some large city, save it and run it. Simple concept, but I like it.

Well, one would think that a stronghold in Skyrim makes much more sense than the ones you got in Morrowind.

Isn't it the classic set up? the land is split by civil war and needs to be reunited to fight the greater evil, the protagonist is a potential candidate to not only fight that evil but also to become the new emperor. What do you need more? Romance including marriage and divorce or a nice keep to rest and store your trophies. Frankly, I'd go for the keep.

I guarantee this will be modded in. And if you like that kind of stuff, try Mount & Blade! Great game.

Grammar nazism-against forum rules.

OT : May be mods, but there is no point now asking for features, the game has been made, any content added now will be small scale (this area could do with more mushrooms sort of thing). It's all aboard the good ship Bug-Testing.

It's pretty unlikely something that extensive will be in. Not in vanilla at least. And I wouldn't really count on it being in DLC.

If you can't understand a post, or just don't like the grammar or spelling, please don't bother to post. Posting pointless useless posts is spamming, and you will end up with a warning and posting ability suspension for doing so.

If you don't understand a post, but actually want to contribute to the discussion, asking for the original poster to clarify their question is fine.

On topic: given the response to the housing opportunities in Oblivion, I can see them doing something along the lines of Battlehorn castle, or, considering its Skyrim, Thirsk meadhall from Bloodmoon.

It could be a lot of fun. In Neverwinter Nights 2 it was nice to be put in charge of a castle after you got powerful. The walls were crumbling and needed to be repaired, the buildings were falling down. The soldiers had no armor and poor weapons. The lands around the castle were plagued by bandits and the roads were unsafe.

You had to find talented or skilled NPCs with the knowledge to repair or improve the architecture or smith new weapons and armor, plus you had to secure a source of materials, PLUS you had to fund the entire thing, which took many tens of thousands of gold pieces. You could also set policy, etc. and see the castle change around you each time you visited. It made you feel like you had achieved something substantial, and it meant you had something to do with all the insane amounts of money you had by that time, ensuring that money stayed valuable for you.

Then a massive army attacked your castle and you got to see whether you did a good job with your choices or not.

I don't think something like this could be "free-form" in Skyrim, but it would make a very cool DLC or epic quest line.

They did confirm that you can have domesticated animals as pets.

Another addon like Battlehorn Castle would be cool. I like the unmarked quest that came with it too (Not the killing the bandits part)
