Vampires should not look like a Raisin

Post » Mon Sep 05, 2011 3:26 am

It's just another person on the Twilight Hate Train, wanting recognition for what they said. I like that you understand, too. Vampires don't have to be scary just from looks. If I met a real-life Edward from Stephanie's novels, I wouldn't be easy about it. Regardless of appearance, vampires will always be strong, immortal (sort of lol) and fast. People always refer to the Twilight Vampire's skin as 'sparkling' to make it seem whimpy. I would love to have skin made of diamonds. Do these people realise how hard diamonds are? :poke:

All I am saying is that Nosferatu would kick edwards ass up the block and back again. Lets see edward handle the vamps from 30 days of night, or even better yet, can we get the freaky from dusk till dawn 1 vamps who tore a man to pieces and then proceeded to use his torso as a guitar. The vamps looked human and normal and then bamm bloodsvcking vicious monster's ready to eat you. And just so you know the Selma Hayek is the leading vamp in that one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdvwQPbhq1E

I think the Oblivion vampires had more than a wrinkled look, it was more than just their skin... It was like the shape of the facial bone-structure changed. http://images.uesp.net/3/33/OB-npc-Vicente_Valtieri.jpg had very gaunt cheeks, but his cheekbones were high, and his mouth seemed to protrude a bit...
http://images.uesp.net/d/d6/OB-npc-Janus_Hassildor.jpg of Skingrad also seemed a bit different in the bone structure, but not as much as Vicente.
Then you have http://images.uesp.net/7/79/OB-npc-Vampire_Acrobat_Female.jpg http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-npc-Vampire_Acrobat_Male.jpg http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-npc-Vampire_Witchhunter.jpg, whose faces seemed to be structurally different...

But hopefully vampires in Skyrim will be a bit different... Well, lots different. We'll see.

This is correct. After you become a full fledged vampire, your cheek and brow line become drastically more pronounced. As well as mouth and overbite/underbite structure.

As for hunger-levels adjusting stats, I don't think it should be so binary. That is to say, being well-fed should grant speech and magical bonuses, whereas being hungry should grant a critical-hit multiplier, combat bonus, and the chance to frighten off NPC opponents.

The Volkihar sound awesome actually. Ice powers :D

The Volkihar vampires of eastern Skyrim live under haunted, frozen lakes and only leave their dens to feed. They have the power to freeze their victims with icy breath, and can reach through the ice of their frozen lake dens without breaking the ice.

I want to see that!

Agreed. I hope they make vampires look like the predators they should be, not a gang of old men and women with bleached faces. I don't necessarily want beautiful vampires, and certainly not sparkling, but I'd be fine seeing scary, dangerous looking vampires. Fierce, but not in the same way as a troll should look. Still humanoid.

If anything, they should look younger than they should.
Actually, the purpose of the Vampiric Curse is to make them look and become a nightmare, and an abomination to Arkay. The only clan to remain looking pretty is solely the Cyrodiilic Clan, who made a bargin with Clavacus Vile to weaken the curse when fed, but end up being weaker themselves.

Everyone else is stuck on nightmare mode all day every day. Also, to make matters more fun, vampires in previous games lacked the ability to regain health outside of potions and a special drain life spell vampires receive.

I think the real problem was that people in oblivion looked odd in general. Vampires in oblivion are supposed to look wrinkled, but they don't. The skyrim screens of older characters actually look good and I wouldn't mind having that appearance as a vampires.

That is one aspect I hated about Obilvion Vampire when you became one. You look very old and weak. Just give us pale skin and blood red eyes, along with a increased in speed, jumping and strength.

Don't worry. I have seen the vampires for Skyrim, and they look really ultra bad ass, monstrous terrifying, kinda like the ones from Buffy The Vampire Slayer tv. series, with these blood red eyes, and these demonic brow ridges and . . . wait a minute. . . that's the Dunmer. I'm sorry, I was confused. Yes, I hope all the vamps don't have prune face.

I too would like them to look more like the one's from the twilight saga, but then again most of the vampires in the game or like 100's of years old so they would look a bit old.

I just think there needs to be a downside to be a vampire. If it's just there appearance that drives away citizens, promotes mobs, and makes life generally difficult then I'm OK with it.
