You can always learn

Well one problem is the cost of the software. 3D modelling software is just not cheap.
But the other problem is I don't really consider myself to be a "from-scratch" artist. I don't know if there's better terminology to describe it. Basically, I tend to manipulate preexisting stuff. For example, I'm a photographer and I manipulate my photos in Photoshop before posting them to create a sort of artwork with them, but I couldn't do the same thing from scratch like some people can. I'm in awe of the artistic creativity some people have. I might be able to learn how to do still life objects, as in inanimate objects. I don't draw flowers and people well at all, but I can draw things like furniture and architecture (the latter which I've done since I was a kid; I thought I was going to be an architect when I grew up).
I think I'd be rather intimidated too. I'm always intimidated by new things. I conquered Morrowind modding, but then stayed clear of Oblivion. This time I'm going to dive in right off the bat with my fellow community members like I did in Morrowind; I think it will help learning along with everyone else.
