Question about NOM

Hey y'all,

I'm new to the forum but not to the awesomeness that is Morrowind.

Recently I started a new game with the Necessities of Morrowind-mod to give the game some more RP-elements. I love the mod so no problems there but one thing I've noticed is: say it's 10 AM in the morning and I decide I want to skip ahead to the next day, usually I'd just rest say 18 to 20 hours to get the next morning. However, with NOM active this seems to present me with hunger penalties that cannot be eaten away so I'm stuck with them. I guess it's to be expected as the script probably calculates the penalties based on when you last ate and since you missed two meals sleeping and then only cancels the effects of the last time you missed lunch or dinner leaving the other penalties intact.

I disabled it after it did that tot me and started a new character as I wasn't too far into the current one anyway but after playing the new one for a while I found I missed the things that NOM adds.

It could be that I'm remembering it wrong and that I went to sleep with hunger-penalties and that they wouldn't go away afterwards even when eating.

I was just wondering if one of these two scenarios sound familiar to anyone. The solution to both of these seems simple enough: don't sleep on an empty stomach and wake up to eat before sleeping on.

If anyone could clarify this for me I'd be grateful. I'm planning to do my own quest-mod involving a Khajit with a severe moonsugar problem on a rescue mission that is probably going to involve some heavy scripting as I need to keep track of him getting his moonsugar fix and I'm wondering if this is more like a bug or a limitation of the engine / scripting.

I'm a bit out of the loop, but as I remember it, you just need to have enough food in your inventory, and the NoM scripts will make you eat and drink it automatically when you wake up. There was an issue with fortified stats not fully returning to their (fortified) maximum, but I thought the Morrowind Code Patch (MCP) fixed that. Are you you using it? (You should, for a number of reasons).

I strongly suggest you stop doing that. NoM doesn't handle very well big jumps of time, and much less if they interfere with the meal schedule. Sometimes I sleep before 9 PM until the next morning, and even with that small amount of time sometimes NoM completely skips the 9 PM meal (it later "makes amends" eating twice at 1 PM, but you get the point). If you want to skip to the next day, I suggest you make "stops" at every meal hour, let your char eat, then continue sleeping/waiting, in order to avoid more possible issues.

I have it set to manual eating. I think setting it to automatic would be the same as going into the Launcher and clear the tick next to the mod. I do want to be forced to eat but I also want the stats to go away when I've eaten. I'll do some more testing to see what causes it to occur as I'm still curious. And yes, I use the Code Patch, MGE(XE) and all the other stuff the Morrowind community has to offer :) I've been lurking around here for some time now but never posted anything, mainly just scouring up info and mods to enhance my Morrowind experience.

Thanks, I'll look into the scripts later as I'm curious to see how they handle that and what might cause a problem with it. If that would happen with what I want to do with the character in my mod and there's no way around it, well that would svck :)
