Quad Core Will Not Appear

Post » Wed Sep 07, 2011 8:42 am

Yesterday i bought this K53TA ASUS Model Laptop.
It has a Quad Core processor and I could switch from 1 - 4 cores with MSCONFIG yesterday.
Now i just checked MSCONFIG and when i click the dropdown menu, Core 2, 3, 4 have dissapeared and only 1 is able to be selected.

Can anyone help me out with this problem?
I am trying to do everything to optimize performance on Oblivion.

Thank you.

Oblivion does not utilize multiples cores in any way shape or form, for all intents and purposes. So don't bother wasting your time :D.

What about the multi threading in the INI file?

As far as I am aware it doesn't noticeably improve performance.

And it some cases reduces it. It's best to just leave the INI alone.
