9800 for medium-high.

I don't know much about computers ha so I'm trying to learn more before I start making my own. What type of card do you refer to when you say 9800? I have seen AMD raedon go as high as 6990 but it costs about 600$ What you're talking about can't be on the same number scale as the AMD can it?
