I was holding on to my skill books so that I could read them after I took the comprehension perk, but after I got the perk i checked my inventory and they were gone. Also missing was about 40 pieces of dynamite and an NCR disguise, and possibly other things that I didn't notice. I thought that this was probably just a one time glitch and decided just to move on. I eventually met Boone and he gave me his beret. I just checked my inventory and his beret is gone, so now i don't think I can finish his quest. Please fix this problem Bethesda/Obsidian!

If you stole those items from a faction and at some point was seen robing something else from that same faction all the stolen goods will be taken away without giving any big notice about it. and it might have really happened because now the factions might not even attack you for stealing their stuff if you arent out right hated.

This is happening to me also, but in a different way. I pick ed up at least 10 spears but in my inventory it only counts one. Also I was picking up a few Legion initiate helmets and it would only count ONE helmet even though I had picked up 3.

Some of the items I stole but lots of them I didn't, and I don't think I've ever been caught stealing by a faction.

This has happened to me too when I picked up powder ganger outfits. I've only had this happen once though.

I lost everything 25 hours of guns and stuff out of the lucky 38 locker,and my last hard save is 4 hours back.if its importent kept it on you or be all ways be doing things agian.and it still f$%ing has the same problams as fallout 3

it seems I have been 'losing' things from my inventory too...

I am somewhat of a packrat and my inventory is usually maxed so it's hard to keep track of everything in there... lol

but I could have sworn I had a gun that just sort of 'magically' disappeared after I left one of the casinos... huh?

I know it's weird, but I have experienced something similar with Metal armor and Legion initiate helmets and spears as well. I noticed that when I went to clear my inventory and hold things in a locker or something, sometimes when I click one of those items I know I had more than one of but I only see one icon, one will stay in my inventory and one will magically be placed in my locker. It's like they merge, but aren't "really" merged. Like in my inventory it showed one metal armor, but when i clicked it to drop it in the locker, one appeared in the locker as expected, but it also looked like it remained in my inventory as well, and even had different endurance than the piece I had put away. I think it has happened with a few guns as well.

I had this happen to a few items but it noticed it more with the spears, i picked up 6 spears in one go from a chest and then 3 from another chest. In my inventory it only shows 3 however when i moved them to a companion the extra 6 appeared when i got rid of the top three. the most annoying thing about this is that the extra invisible 6 still weighed whatever it is they weigh, this means my total weight is higher than what I can actually see in my inventory. i do wonder sometimes when i have huge weight but seemingly a little amount of items.

This game really is becoming nothing short of an all out joke. Bethesda really should release games in the alpha stage.

It appears to me also that some stuff has disapear from my inventory also.
I save the game at the mojave outpost inside the bar building with the save option => when i load it, all my weapon ( PM 9 mm and PM 10mm and dynamite) and armor (figth armor mark II) has gone ....( if it is someone who pickpocketed me, i have to say he is good to rob my equipped armor ...)
When i load the auto save wish has been done 1 minute before the manual save, all's my good seems to be OK.
For me who was thinking that the manual saving was preventing me from those kind of stuff, i am saved with auto save ... It seem to be a really big issue to not be able to trust our own manual save (it can be understand for autosaved ...)

I also have several body corpse witch has disapear in goodsprings where i have stock a lot's of stuff. and a lot of stuff inside a sunset distributor inside goodsprings also ...

weapon of cass has also disapear (it was repair just 1 hour before) ....

It is really not fun to play this game thinking your stuff can disapear at any time i can closed my eyes on the Lag issue has it is mainly in huge map like the mojave desert, closed also my eye on some freeze time to time same it is not funny to reboot the PS3, but it removed all the interressed of the game to lose what we have pass hours and hours to collect ...

Yup, seen this with Metal Armor, Grenade Rifle, and others. Thought I was going a bit batty at first. What's really annoying is such "merged" items can't be used for repair on each other. Still, all things considered it's pretty low priority compared to all of the quest-breaking/game-breaking bugs.
