Circa Oblivion, the Argonians. I'm not sure how I'll feel after Skyrim is released.

Dunmer. The Argonians just attacked them for little reason (:P) while the Dunmer were already down.

Elves are big doodoo heads. After the Ehlnofey arrived on Nirn, the scattered, wandering Ehlnofey tribes (proto-men) managed to find each other as well as the Old Ehlnofey (proto-elves), and the wandering Ehlnofey just wanted to get all back together and be a happy family again. But of course, since the elves are doodoo heads with severe entitlement issues, they saw the men as unclean and tainted, went "no way jose" and started a war that ended up sinking the majority of the Hist's realm (who up to then were content staying uninvolved and not getting in anyone's way).

Then after the Hist created the Argonians to try and integrate with the growing societies of man and mer, the Dunmer (continuing the elven tradition of being doodoo heads) had to go and enslave them while cutting down more Hist. After the Oblivion Crisis, the Hist/Argonians were finally able to get some retribution, though I wouldn't quite call it even considering just how many Hist have been lost due to the Ehlnofey war and the long years of slavery. Running the last of Dunmer out of the land that was already kicking them out doesn't quite compare, IMO.

So, yeah. Kinda hard for me not to sympathize with the lizards there. :P

That's really like the US raiding Mexico for slaves for centuries and being overall [censored]s and then being surprised why Mexicans hate Americans and finally invade. Sorry for the cringe worthy comparison, just trying to rationalize it.

Oye vey, of course the entire Dunmer race had it coming, people who never had slaves or had any stock in slaves totally deserved to have their homeland destroyed and invaded because of the actions of others, afterall the world is completely black and white right? Pa-lease. :P lol

Dunmer. The only good Argonian is dead Argonian at this point.

I like both of the races. It's a shame that, as portrayed in "The Infernal City", the Hist started taking an active role in their province and started pulling strings on the xenophobic radicals that ran Argonia after the Oblivion crisis. The novel shows that the An'Xileel (if I remember their name correctly) are similar to the Khmer Rouge, murdering their own people whenever they're deemed pro-Empire. I also have sympathy for the Dunmer, who are now in diaspora and exile.

I put the ":P" in there for a reason you know. Even then, does a little slavery give the Argonians the right to commit genocide? Which is the greater evil?

By that logic the African's should be given the go-ahead to murder the European's and American's for enslaving their people, afterall, they had it coming right? that argument hold's no water for me personally.

You are right, I wasn't trying to say that, what I am saying is that it is understandable why Argonians did what they did, not necessarily justified from a 3rd party perspective. I don't think it's justifiable for Africans (back during or nearer the slave trade) to murder Europeans, but I would understand why Africans would hate white men (more stupid comparisons) Argonians are conditioned to hate Dunmer and most Argonians probably only know of Dunmer as slavers and raiders.

I will say that enslaving ones people and raiding ones lands is an act of war, so Dunmer shouldn't be surprised that they saw an act of war back.

YES IT WAS HARSH. NO ARGONIANS ARE NOT ANGELIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS.

lol I know Boxfish, I understand their sentiments and what you meant, but I don't think its justifiable by any standards nor that they 'had it coming'.

I'm still for the Argonians, even if 'they had it coming' is not a valid arguement.

I'd be willing to bet, roles reversed, the Dunmer would have done the exact same.
