Extremely Low Framerate

A little while back I used to have Morrowind and Oblivion on my PC. I eventually uninstalled them (I forget the reason) and recently i've been craving some RPG action. I reinstall the two games with their respective DLC and they both get less than one FPS, this is at all times ingame too, including the main menu. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with an Nvida GeForce 9400GT, 2GB of RAM, and an Intel Celeron that clocks at 2.20 GHz. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling both Oblivion and Morrowind. Nothing has solved my problem yet. Most games play fine on my PC, I can play CoD4, The Sims 3, Command and Conquer 3, STALKER, ArmA, Call of Juarez, and other graphics demanding games. The only other games that have the same problem as Oblivion and Morrowind are Crysis and Duke Nukem Forever.

I went to multiple people and none of them could help me out. Do you guys have any ideas?

Intel Celeron that clocks at 2.20.... Socket 478 single core feller? There's your problem...... the svckseron processors where gimped when they were new, and are NOT a gaming chip. (very small L2 cache.....)

Comparing it to other games is also inaccurate. The oblivion engine is very poorly optimized, and is VERY CPU demanding. If your CPU isn't up to snuff, the game simply won't run well. Add to that, the likelyhood of having onboard sound, which forces the processor to deal with that as well, and, you get a slideshow. Things loading in the background (all those little icons in your system tray) also consume resources that the game cannot use.

Post a dxdiag. Let's see what all else ya got going on there.
