Issues AFTER Patch Update

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:54 am

I've played Fallout New Vegas on PS3 for about six hours and had no issues....tonight, my system automatically updated this patch (1.01) and now the game is freezing every five minutes or so. I'm in Nipton and can't go anywhere without it freezing...everything is completely locked and I have to reboot...Help!

Delete the game's data from your HD (NOT your save data) and then reinstall while disconnected from PSN. If you didn't have any problems before without the patch, just play without it. You should be able to do so if you're not connected to the network.

This did work..i disconnected from the network, deleted the game data 1.01 and then re-installed with the game disk. It said it was 1.01, but it is working now. I'l just have to make sure i don't sign in the network before I start the game. Or at least until this issue is fixed

I've had problems before the patch (lost Ed E, various glitches, and game shutting down and going to the xmb), and I have even more problems after the update. Like when Veronica spontaneously dies after leaving Ralphs. And I have experience major stutters in framerate and VATS now. You would figure they would already have this problem solved seeing how this is virtually the same game as fallout 3. Well, I guess they never fixed that either....

Even if you are not signed on to PSN your PS3 is still connected to the internet and will still download the 1.01 patch just like how you can open the web browser on you XMB without being signed into PSN. The minute your PS3 powers up it connects with your modem then to the internet. You have to make sure you are completely disconnected from your modem/router before starting the game up after delete the game data otherwise it will just reinstall the patch again.
