Mods getting wasted here!

Post » Thu Sep 08, 2011 2:53 pm

Hey guys,

I am having a bit of a problem that is preventing me from saving my mods after I edit them.
I set them as the active file before I edit them, but when I go to save them after making the desired changes, two errors pop up. :brokencomputer:
I posted exactly what the error message says below.

To see the error message just view this URL:

If anyone knows how to fix this, or has any advice, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

When you make an 'active' file, you cannot change the name when you save the mod.
Also, if you installed the game in the default 'Program Files' folder, you will have issues with saving mods because you can only save mods in the games DATA folder, which is not allowed by the GECK without administrative rights.

So should I try uninstalling the game then re-installing it in a folder that is not in program files, like C:/Fallout3?
Wait..Scratch that idea.. I'll just run the G.E.C.K as administrator see if that works....
Yep it works!! I just have to run it as administrator everytime. I'm closing the topic.
