How do Argonians get their "Imperialistic" names.

By Imperialistic I mean, for example, Hides-His-Eyes.

Are these names a direct translation of their names in their native tongue, or a totally separate name they are given?

Usually if the Saxhleel name is too hard to pronounce, it is then pronounced in "english" from what the Saxhleel name sounds like

But there are Argonians born outside of Black Marsh, so names like Hides His Hart could also be intentional

Aw, I was thinking of naming my Argonian something to do with the cold, (Slips-On-Ice etc.) but only wanted to do it if it made sense lore wise.

I thought perhaps they were pretty much named by non Argonians (you hide you eyes a lot so you will be Hides-His-Eyes, you swim a lot so you will be called City-Swimmer, when I first met you, you slipped on ice, so I will name you Slips-On-Ice etc.)

I think both ways are correct. I'm intentionally thinking of the old New York immigrants that had to change their names at Ellis Island. So in the same way, some Argonians have given names, and some have translated or transliterated names. Haha, I hope I used those last two words properly.

Anyhoo, you can name your argonian in that manner. My nightblade was Hips-Dont-Lie. More a parody than not, but I guess I can explain away the femme fatale part? :)
