Fallout or...

Post » Sat Sep 10, 2011 9:17 pm

I'm an avid TES fan, but want to try something futuristic before Skyrim comes out. I've been looking at gameplay videos and reading reviews, and have narrowed it down to Fallout: New Vegas, Crysis2, or wait until RAGE comes out.

I'm looking for recommendations. Anyone?

Yeah, I think you did =)

I know Crysis is FPS with no RPG as such, it just looks pretty cool. So maybe I just narrowed it down to FNV or RAGE.

Crysis is more modern futuristic, whereas Fallout is 1950's futuristic. But if you're looking for a game similar to TES but futuristic and all, Fallout would probably be your best bet.

Go with New Vegas.

Crysis 2 is nothing special and RAGE isn't even out yet.

Did you just ask everyone on the Fallout New Vegas Forums if you should get Fallout New Vegas or a different game?

Crysis 2. Its got some of the best graphics ever in a video game. The atmosphere is very cool in the game, if you prefer post apocalyptic games go with Crysis 2. Its like you're part of your very own blockbuster when you play it.

Just thought I'd emphasize this. :whistling:

You probably wouldn't get as much game hours as you would with New Vegas, but I have played the game (on a friend's PC) and it looks nice. But I'm sure it would get old fairly quickly like with any other FPS.

Depends on you OP. New Vegas is cheaper, and would probably last longer. Crysis 2 looks nicer and is more action-y.

Heh, thanks for the feedback guys. I bought New Vegas at GameStop for $20 yesterday, done deal =)

The roleplaying part sold it. Crysis does look awesome, I'm just not really that into FPS-and-nothing-else games.

You'll enjoy new vegas more, Crysis is pretty, provided your PC can handle the max specs of the game, but like TES, New Vegas is much deeper and infinitly more mod-able than Crysis.

Well, I'll get flamed for this, but Fallout is a marginally better series than TES. As much as a love TES, Oblivion is the most overrated game in existence (Morrowind was indeed very good) Dont get me wrong, I love the game- but it's not as good as is made out). Fallout 3 and NV make a better pair of games than MW and Oblivion, purely because of how overrated Oblivion is.

Go for Fallout dude.

Are you looking for a time burner until Skyrim? (as in arcade game?) Not trying to slight it, but by comparison, FO3 is a bit more "arcade like" than New Vegas, and is more combat heavy.
They are really close to each other in most ways, except the treatment of the setting, and certain geographical restrictions in New Vegas.

NV or even FO3 but do it soon only two months till Skyrim, once you start playing NV two months is not much time cause you have to get some mods to.

Definately New Vegas over the two, but if you happen to have a xbox live account I would suggest Halo Reach.

Eh, being an avid Crysis fan as well as a FO and TES fan, I'm torn, but I can honestly say you'll get more gameplay out fo FNV... unless you're into the whole FPS Multiplayer scene.
