Hello all, I've been trying to play Morrowind for the longest time ever since I fell in love with the elder scrolls series, but for some reason I'm always having problems with playing the game. I recently got a brand new computer thinking it would have no problem playing vanilla Morrowind. But I am having serious framerate issues. Its strange because the game will fly for about 10 seconds then completely stop and start stuttering for about 2 seconds. This keeps repeating over and over. Its extremely frustrating because my system should definately play the game with no problems and Im only playing vanilla with no graphical mods. Please if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. And also, Im playing morrowind off of a steam download if that makes any difference. Here are my specs :

Windows 7
Amd Athalon II X2 255 Processor (2 CPUs) 3.1ghz
4 Gigs Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5450 1024 mb
DirectX 11

Does it happen only when you're moving or also when you stand in place. If it's only when you're moving, are you sure you're not crossing in to a new cell. Delays of up to a second or two are normal in that case. Otherwise, give a http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 a try. You may have apps interfering with the game.
