Have it been confirmed/can someone ask wether the vampires will stay true to how the book Immortal flesh describes them.
Not sure. Immortal Blood describes the vampires of Skyrim as ice vampires (volkihar) who are paranoid and cruel.
They live beneath the ice of remote and haunted lakes, never venturing into the world of men except to feed.
Their breath is like frost and they can go through the ice of their lakes without breaking it.
The only information we have in regards to vampires in Skyrim is from Todd Howard:
There is various levels of being a vampire, the sun will affect you more the more powerful you get.
And you can sort of control your vampirism by feeding on people when their sleeping.
And you can sort of, you know, live the life of a vampire, in skyrim, and kill dragons as a vampire.
Which sounds very similar to Oblivion's vampirism and the cyrodillic strain of vampires, to which many people disliked:
Only one known tribe exists in Cyrodiil; they are experts of concealment, their true name lost in history. Much like the Imperials, they ousted their competition. Indistinguishable from the living if well-fed, these Cyrodiilic Vampires are cultured and more civilized than vampires of other provinces, using their stealthy abilities to feed on the sleeping and unaware. Calling themselves the Order, they have made Cyrodiil their home as of the Third Era, and in accordance with their strict tenets, these vampires follow the Daedric Princes Molag Bal and Clavicus Vile.
I hope that there will be an option to be a volkihar vampire in Skyrim, as I've been greatly looking forward to being one since reading Immortal Blood.
The cyrodillic vampires were just boring and stale, having the appearence of Star War's Palpatine or The Emperor, depending whether you drank blood or not.
I want to be a Nosferatu esque vampire: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqNo/TUFlxQiW7CI/AAAAAAAAAZM/n_xn6TWnSA8/s1600/artofskyrim_013_femmonster.jpg, but not looking 80 years of age to disguise myself in society.
Being able to be an ice vampire would be just so unique. And it fits Skyrim barbaric theme so much more than any civilised, count dracula could.
