"Screw vampires! Give us werewolves

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:54 pm

I don't like vampires being in at all. It was a cool feature in both Morrowind and Oblivion; However, when they made Bloodmoon they did it the right way; They added werewolves as that is what fits the area just best. It should be the same in Skyrim. Why would you prefer vampries to werewolves in such a snowy, cold and nordic province?

One word: Twilight. Ever since that scene came out, Vampires have been becoming less and less of an object of fear, and more of a sixual/love appeal.

The sixual component has been there since Bram Stoker's Dracula, it's nothing new.

I wouldn't trade one for the other, but I do hope Werewolves are in.

I never played Bloodmoon or the other Morrowind expansion so I don't particularly care about being a werewolf. Sure if they give you the choice, more power to them. This isn't a win-lose situation though.

Of coarse people who love RPing or being one might throw around reasons like "Well Bethesda said I can do whatever I want in the game!" Yes but you can do whatever you want -within- the created worlds bounds.

I yell at BGS for their disrespect and stripping of RPG mechanics after Daggerfall. I blame them for piss poor writers.

I don't blame them for the fact they don't allow me to be Jesus in their game orld, the option to have a six trade, or be the annoying man in disguise.

This.

Also, from the exclusive it sounds like vampire would be much like they were at Oblivion.

werewolves are cool but the real reason to put them in the base game is so that modders can bend them to their will.......add new stories with werewolves and other things like that.......*sigh* you can even mod in a werewolf v vampire scenario........The story telling opportunities are numerous.....as long as some crucial base elements are not looked over in Skyrim...modders can really pick up the slack and expand on it.......creating a werewolf from scratch, though I love the sentiment, never quite clicks and is always kinda awkward to look at

Remember not everyone can modd games due to not playing this on PC, think of those people when you type like me and many others next time ok?

I hate when I see stuff like "Oh, even if they don't include them we can always mod them in" (screens I have seen of the modded ones looked pretty bad btw, giant wovles and furrys no please.) and stuff like that, we can't all do that

I think were getting werewolves this time, they just don't wanna tell us yet. That "no comment" answer on werewolves being in when the Q&A came out makes me think they're saving it. So finally some day, they'll admit they're in and go, "See, we listened!"

nah, just something that isnt specifically lycan. but bestial and race appropriate.

like if i were an argonian and contracted "werebeast" id get huge when the moon came up, claws teeth fangs etc. Bloodlust, the whole nine yards. But no fur.... just a Gnarly lookin Lizard beast...

Or if i were a kajhiit i wouldnt become a canid based beast, but a specifically feline "werebeast"

there is werelions and werecrocodiles if you think they need to be diffrent (which is very rasist to me as an argonian :teehee: its a divine disease it doesnt discriminate) there is also werevultures, weresharks, werebear, wearboar (werepig, half man half pig, we just need to throw a bear in there somehow)

Have it been confirmed/can someone ask wether the vampires will stay true to how the book Immortal flesh describes them.

Not sure. Immortal Blood describes the vampires of Skyrim as ice vampires (volkihar) who are paranoid and cruel.
They live beneath the ice of remote and haunted lakes, never venturing into the world of men except to feed.
Their breath is like frost and they can go through the ice of their lakes without breaking it.

The only information we have in regards to vampires in Skyrim is from Todd Howard:
There is various levels of being a vampire, the sun will affect you more the more powerful you get.
And you can sort of control your vampirism by feeding on people when their sleeping.
And you can sort of, you know, live the life of a vampire, in skyrim, and kill dragons as a vampire.

Which sounds very similar to Oblivion's vampirism and the cyrodillic strain of vampires, to which many people disliked:
Only one known tribe exists in Cyrodiil; they are experts of concealment, their true name lost in history. Much like the Imperials, they ousted their competition. Indistinguishable from the living if well-fed, these Cyrodiilic Vampires are cultured and more civilized than vampires of other provinces, using their stealthy abilities to feed on the sleeping and unaware. Calling themselves the Order, they have made Cyrodiil their home as of the Third Era, and in accordance with their strict tenets, these vampires follow the Daedric Princes Molag Bal and Clavicus Vile.

I hope that there will be an option to be a volkihar vampire in Skyrim, as I've been greatly looking forward to being one since reading Immortal Blood.
The cyrodillic vampires were just boring and stale, having the appearence of Star War's Palpatine or The Emperor, depending whether you drank blood or not.

I want to be a Nosferatu esque vampire: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqNo/TUFlxQiW7CI/AAAAAAAAAZM/n_xn6TWnSA8/s1600/artofskyrim_013_femmonster.jpg, but not looking 80 years of age to disguise myself in society.
Being able to be an ice vampire would be just so unique. And it fits Skyrim barbaric theme so much more than any civilised, count dracula could.

1st of all I'm not a proponent of them being modded in if you had read my statement right which you had not clearly
2nd of all is i don't get these things on PC till years after they come out b/c I'm not willing to pay for a PC specifically for a game...I'm thinking about the future and the modding possibilities.......soo...shut your face :glare:
