Face Time

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 7:16 am

It may just be me being an attention horse. But I'd really like to see my character more. It'd svck to spend like an hour in the character creator, making an awesome face. Only to realise that the only part of your character you'll be seeing is his back.
I personally want cutscenes, or third-person "Mass Effect style" dialogue. But I know you hardcoe immersionists out there hate that kinda thing, so I suppose if Beth wanted to give your character a little more "face time", they'd have to get creative.
What do you think would be a good way of pulling this off? Post you suggestions below. :D

He doesn't want to just see his characters back, so he doesn't like that option. I personally don't care, i'll see my characters face enough in the menu.

I hate everything the OP said in his OP.. Except character creation.

And just FYI, you can rotate the camera around your character in third person, showing the face too.

Your character isn't shown in the menu anymore.

1. I kind of meant somthing natural. There's not really any point to just randomly spinning the camera around and watching him just stand there for a few minutes.

2. I hate you too.

For PC players, ~TFC (toggle free camera) and view your character from any angle, close or at a distance.

For others, 3rd person, view front, etc. It's quick and very easy.

I don't see a problem...

I don't use third person a lot so I don't mind not seeing my characters face, but it certainly would be nice if your characters looks will effect relationships/marrige with npcs ingame.
For instance, if your character was muscly or weak (male)/more pronounced female body structure (female), if it had a lot of scars and bruises, things like that.

Well, there's no problem per sé. But I like I said to GordoPs3, I'd like to see him more... in game... Like, think of your favorite video game character. Now, imagine if you'd like him/her as much if the only time you saw their front half was when you just felt like randomly stopping, and spinnig the camera around to stare at him/her for a while.

This isn't a linear game, an open but closed game ala Deus Ex, or a 3rd person oriented game at all. Your wants are hard to meet when they go against the entire series. Cinematics isn't a direction open world games are too well at either. Sorry. Try Witcher 2.
