Is it worth getting another copy of the game on PC?

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 8:12 pm

I've overplayed the PS3 version, and survived all the crashes and bugs there are (don't get me wrong, its much better than before, and besides you get used to it). But now that I got a proficient ''gaming'' laptop, should I consider getting FO:NV on PC for the sake of the new price and the mods?

Advice/tips would be appreciated

Yes. From what I understand, less crashes. You can get mods as well.

If you start playing your games on PC, you can also play Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics if you haven't already.

Edit: I play using PC and crashing for me is very rare.

Yes.

I think the game goes for 20-30$ now.

I would say yes, I'm watching necroscope's let's play of NV and the mods really fix a ton of problems I had with NV (lack of exploring being number 1.)

Wow, I found myself in literally the exact same situation about a month ago. It is definately worth it, although if your on a laptop like me you should turn the graphics quality for the game down to medium or low after you install the game, trust me it helps a lot. Also, if you learn how to use the GECK you can make custom mods for the game, and modding is a great hobby. Also, its fun to just mess around with console commands every once in a while too. In other words playing on PC can give you a whole new range of experiences with the game and it is definately worth it, although I should point out that I still prefer playing on ps3 in some ways, both versions have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Of course. PC is better not to mention all of the great mods you can install.

I havent even played it on the pc, mostly because my pc is now outdated, and i can tell you get it for the pc if you can run it. I've searched through mods, just to make myself sad, and while i prefer the controller style of consoles i can say console players are missing out. If there is a gun in existence that would like to use there is a mod for it, as and HK fan i love the HK 416 mods. I've beaten the game using every scenario i can think of and am getting bored with the lack of new content but many mods add missions, factions, and just fill in empty space in the mojave with encounters, and factions.

I'd say yes for the mods alone.

Even some fan made patches do a better job at fixing stuff than what the developers do.
