Hall of Stories

I actually just had a single quick question, but I figured I'd post screenshots of the various wall panels as it might be interesting (or not).

Essentially, I'm familiar with the role the ancestor moths play in Cyrodiilic/Imperial culture, but do moths play any significant role in Nord culture? The reason I'm asking is the first panel in the Hall of Stories that was shown in the new Skyrim presentation:

Those seem like moths to me.

For the sake of completeness I'll also post the other 3 panels. I think the two panels on the sides are always the same. The top one changes, but the first one is never very clear

I don't know, maybe it's completely uninteresting and I'm wasting everybody's time. Apologies in that case :P

All I gotta say is that I practically ironed* my pants at that part.

The moths are a lot more apparent on the puzzles - I would say that they are references to Cyrodiil, since the Nords have been part of their empire for half of forever. The picture you linked looks like Alessia, to me.

The rest are harder to read - they all appear to be divine. H2 - the guy with two bird skull staves and what looks like a drum(?), being attacked (?) by people - might be Talos ("stormcrow", mantled the doom drum). H3 - with the wings and halfmoon - I can't quite place. H4 - with the circular flame - might be Magnus. I'd venture that these are the same people as on the initial promo wall we were shown.

*hah, apparently the vernacular for "to ejaculate" converts to "iron"

That's a good guess. Alternatively, the "bird skull staves" could be two serpents that he's strangling, which would also fit.

H3 - with the wings and halfmoon - I can't quite place.

Makes me think of Morihaus.

:shocking: 'Lady' N! :bolt:

Anyway, about the walls: Todd howard said in the most recent video that these ruins date back to 'the time when ancient nords worshipped dragons.' Personally, I take that to mean that they pre-date the division between man and mer (when one group said, "I hate Lorkhan! I love the time dragon!" and the other said "I hate the time dragon! I love Lorkhan!"). Going back so far, anything is possible. But if the moths were an important part of wandering Elnhofey culture... that's certainly interesting. It also makes a bit of sense: if all life started in central Tamriel, the people who would become atmorans would have to pass through Ancestor Moth territory to get up north, assuming the dawn resembled the present in the slightest (a terrible assumption to make)

#2 could be Shor. The symbol above his head appears to be a heart-shaped hole.

[censored] yeah.

Love the moths on, what I'd guess to be, Alessia. Number may be Shor...Inglar, if Inglar's deduction is correct. I have no idea about the rest.
