If Ice Spike is a rapid-fire spell that would kick all the ass.

Very cool. I love Circle of Protection, should work great on Paladin and Cleric type characters. Looks graphically like a true D&D Turn Undead. Now where did I put that holy symbol of Stendarr...

Screens of an Adept Necromancer using frost spells from Pax~ The Argonian attacking was destroyed in a few seconds by him, since the Argonian was a mage, the Frostbite spell drained his mana extremely fast :cryvaultboy:

Looks like all argonian tails will be the same model~

Thats pretty awesome. Those ice spells look great!

The shield that necro was using along with the ice spike was cool as well. :celebration: Looks like our own attacks can go through the magic shield as long as you got the magicka for both?

In the first of the new HD videos, where the 'thief' attacks ToddNord with a bow on the way to Riverwood, you can see when he attacks the thief with the frostbite spell, and it leaves behind a bunch of large snowflake like frost-icles on the ground that quickly evaporate. Same thing during the combat with the Dragon Priest in the Barrows in the second video after learning the Storm Summon word, during the attack, the dias the priest is floating over gets covered with some frost and large 'snowflakes'. Just saying because I would not call this a 're-skin' of the flame attack as the OP message suggests. Someone put a lot of work into making it look different, unique, and very, erm, cold...

There are freaking 85 unique spells, and this is only 28 of them O.o

This game is amazing. .

Couldn't agree more. Really heartening for me to see that each of the spells that we've seen -- literally every single one -- does something different from the others, but they still clearly fit into certain magic schools.

The shield spell that we saw from the Alteration school is freaking sick, too.

i will need invisibility ... will seriously anger me if isnt available!

Invisibility will be in. I do believe using it will be much more taxing to your magicka pool.

My question is this. If the magic weapons are now blue glowing versions of each, rather than daedric versions...would that mean they go under alteration rather than conjuration? I mean, with alteration we're able to make a blue glowing shield. Or...god forbid, will it be the other way around? The alteration description still says it holds magical protection, but does that mean it holds the same shield spell as before which covers your entire body? Or will we get both versions of the shield spell under alteration? :cryvaultboy: I need answers!

It did. It also had a "Rally" spell which did the exact opposite - forced running enemies to stay and fight.

I agree. And you are 100% right. To say that frostbite is just a re-skin is completely wrong if you actually look at both spells. All of the spells are different in very many ways.

OMFG

BONE SHARDS HERE I COME :D

(an old Hexen 2 spell for necro)

Some of the new spells remind me of Hexen as well, in a good way. Hexen is still my favorite FPS (though I did enjoy Hexen II).

i changed the op and gave frostbite a better desription. When i said a reskin of flames i meant that it was the same kind of stream effect, only with frost. Thanks for helping to clear it up :)

This game will really be rewarding to play as any of the three ways of Thief, Warrior and Mage.

So many options to being a Mage and so rewarding with the animations of the spells.
The ability to double the power and utilize both hands is awesome.

It really is viable to be a complete Mage, most other games falter in that area, either having to few options or you're too weak and just end up dying.

The combination of spells are cool too, first freeze them and immediately burn them to a crisp with flamethrower or perhaps chain lightning.

Actually I saw somewhere they're up just over 100. The devs had been saying 85 PLUS for a while so it would make sense if the final game has around a hundred. That's more than enough for me, too many spells would produce redundancies methinks. That or you would just end up not using like 50 plus spells because they're just not very good.

No there are over 80 unique spells in Skyrim. Also Skyrim does spells differently this time around and much better by assigning a level to each spell (novice, expert, adept, master), so that would technically be over 320 spells. I'm not sure if we can increase those spells the level of those spells in time.

Also, I believe racial ability spells increase along with the PC's level, so that would be much better than any othter TES game.
