Future Skyrim Mod Projects?

Post » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:11 pm

Well in order to avoid all of the console crazies on the actual Skyrim general forum, I decided to make a thread here to discuss future and potential Skyrim mods. We allready know MERP plans a port over to Skyrim, and from the videos of Skyrim we have seen I am sure we all have ome similar ideas in what we would like to see modded into Skyrim.

A short list would be=
1. Add a block animation for 1hand when other hand has something else equiped
2. Add a block animation for dual wielding
3. Add DR duck animation
4. Add a DR bash animation
5. Add Duke Patricks magic "omni Shield" (I cant play without this anymore)
6. Add some sort of scalability to hand to hand or tie it to a skill (perks will take longer, maybe just damage= 1/2 level to start)

More ideas to come!

Skyrim will most definitely need modding. But until we can actually play it, we'll need to wait and see what needs modding. Modding is always about enhancing the playing experience. People don't mod just for the hell of it (mostly). But it doesn't hurt to come up with a few ideas now.

Personally, I can already tell it needs a UI makeover.

I'm with you there. At least a conversion to a serif font, MagicMedieaval maybe? That sans serif font just looks ridiculous in a fantasy game. And perhaps a sepia tone or hand-drawn texture/shader for the overworld map. That'd definitely enhance the feel of the UI.

Wrye Skash. :)

You could call it that. OR we could have it something like Wrye Skrispy. A treat for everyone.

We'll also need a mod manager. I already forsee the SKYriM Mod Integrator and Linker Kit.

Do I sound hungry?

2 maps of the MW mainland for skyrim..? cool.
though i'd prefer if all the province's had teams to start them off.
morrowind has:
TR-morrowind mainland
S:HOTN-skyrim
P:C-cyrodiil

and Oblivion has almost everything.. valenwood, blackmarsh, hammerfell, MW-BM-TB, elsywher (don't know how to spell that one...).

it'd be cool if they all joined together as a bunch of small teams, to work on the provinces. though TR might need a name change :P

I just hope the block/dodge/and bash animations can be quickly added, as the Skyrim combat looks a tad lame at the moment (magic combat however FINALLY looks fun!). But of course we will end up needing mod managers and likely script extendors, although I imagine Skyrim's scripts will be extensive when compared to Oblivion.

I CANT WAIT to see what this modding community will be able to do with Dragons though! Everything I see in Skyrim I know this community can make better, man I love the Bethesda and their construction sets! =)

I don't remember where, but I saw someone suggesting creation of a mod named Morroblivirim :D.
