The Synod? or the Collegeof Whispers?

Post » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:37 am

Ok... we know that the Mage's Guild has split into two separate Factions known as the College of Whispers and the Synod.

As a Community, how much info do we have on either Faction? We already know that we can join the College, but how about the Synod? Or is the Synod simply going to be populated by NPC's? Will the two Factions be warring amongst themselves, or will they have an uneasy truce?

And based on what we know right now, which Mage Faction would you join, and why? What about that Faction would draw your character like a moth to the proverbial flame?

I thought the college of winterhold was the only joinable mage faction.

They've been very tight lipped about all Guilds. All we really know is which ones are in.

I don't have enough info to make an informed decision...just yet. However, I don't plan to make a Mage PC until possibly my third play-trough.
Cheers!

The College of Whispers is a Cyrodiil thing. The lack of The Fighter's Guild and an Imperial sanctioned mage group shows that the Empire's power is going down the toilet.

The Synod and College of Whispers are from the book "The Infernal City", which takes place 50 years after Oblivion. Both factions are Empire-based. The College of Winterhold may be a subsection of the College of Whispers, specific to Skyrim, or they may have just decided to change the name. Either way, I doubt the Synod will be joinable.
