They saved the best for last. I think this will be hands down the best DLC....I mean just look at it....and I really dig Ulysses scratchy dark voice.

There seems to be 2 new knifes, a bowie knife held by a ranger and a dagger in the head of a security bot.

indeed, great stuff, love the skinless look on enemies, hell they dont look ghoulish at all O_O

again: like I said, the unique Divide Weapon is pure Explosives. People, at 0:57, it isnt lasers coming out of your weapon, or fire, but rather a Tri-beam laser from an enemy attacking (you can clearly see the lasers branching out from afar, NOT from the barrel) also, the fire is spreading outwards TO YOU, not FROM YOU. :spotted owl:

Not impressed by the massive reusing of textures and assets, and then we know it'll be a more linear/final bow esque DLC with less dialogue than OWB. Then again Ulysses is quite a character and very interesting to listen to.

While I was more forgiving on the last DLC unlike say...well Gabriel as he's a familiar face to you all. I'm not sure on this one. I feel other than Ulysses the Divide and what there is to do along with the quests will be poorly done in terms of lack of something or bad design, and maybe an injection of major bugs. Mojave Wasteland being affected is nice but it seems superficial at best.

A bit disdained by Jason B. feeling the best merits of Lonesome Road was weapons vs. The other 3 DLCs.

We'll see though. At the least it'll be worth it. Mods ignored and Sawyer's little test pack of weapons for what he feels is a fair price, we're reaching the final road of the journey Obsidian has crafted for us my friends.

The question is. Will we accept the job from the original Courier.

You know, I got up at 8am this morning SPECIFICALLY to watch this trailer... got up, had my coffee, took a nap a few hours later.... I completely forgot the trailer was today... only remembered cause I looked at Bethblog, just now, to show a friend a RAGE video... :sadvaultboy: :sadvaultboy: Though, I guess if I had forgetten, the anticipation would have been maybe a smidge greater...

Who am I KIDDING! It looks [censored] awesome!!! 5 more days!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

not sure about all of this, but the dialogue I heard has more potential in this DLC then even in Old World Blues, so expect alot of talking and listening.

don't blame the game, blame the engine. With the New engine coming out, you shall be more satisfied with the new F4 game, but other then that? no need to complain about the textures and whatnot. :/

I was reading a GI article for Skyrim, scrolled down and saw "Lonesome Road Debut Trailer", and my jaw prompty dropped and crushed my balls, a good price for the DLC.

Okay, no, I wouldn't have my balls crushed for this DLC. That would be horrible. But it still looks AWESOME nonetheless. I loved the crumbling buildings :D

They really chose well the voice of Ulysses. Roger Cross is an amazing voice actor.

Re-using of textures and assets has nothing to do with engine. It has to do with time, resources, and the amount of work a dev team wants to put in. Fallout New Vegas and DLC for the most part is basically 80-90 percent Fallout 3's textures which also most likely have a few from Oblivion which goes back to Morrowind. But that's very small scale.

Also I'm very satisfied with the good writing vs Fallout 3's nifty little graphics for its release year thank you very much.

Fallout 4 and the modified Creation Engine it will probably use will be better yes. Better graphics yes. It has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.
Anything else I may clear up? It wasn't the only thing I talked about in my post.

1:11 was pretty damn interesting. The Nuclear clouds appeared to be hitting the Mojave Outpost and somewhere beyond Nipton or that general area. Now that will be damned interesting to see.

Though, I have to say, although I liked the trailer, its curious that I'm not that excited for this DLC as the others. Maybe excited isn't the right word, but then again I tend not to get hyped. I stopped doing that after the major failure that was Medal of Honor...

Nipton? I was thinking more of Primm, for some odd reason, that looks like an area near Goodsprings... the area the camera is at while looking at the clouds.

The reusal of textures and meshes complaint that I hear frequently from various websites is pretty moot, in my opinion. Developers don't have tons upon tons of months to work on a DLC, they have a certain time frame in order to complete it and then it is set aside until release. The linearity point is also presumptuous, as we don't know if this "road" is like that of any other road--we honestly don't know. Might be that there are mini bunkers to explore, and odds and ends that we would have never expected. We just don't know as of yet and will simply have to find out. From what the trailer has presented, it seems that some of the places are skewed and there are various places to wander off to, which is probably how we find Ulysses holotapes and weapons, like the other DLC's.

The Dialogue issue is also kind of odd. JB said that it has less dialogue, but knowing the genius that is MCA, there will still be a ton of dialogue. Even I'll admit, OWB dialogue was fantastic but sometimes it lasted so long that it was frustrating. In fact, the first time I want through the first slew of dialogue, it crashed. I ahd to do it over again. That was quite frustrating.

While I was more forgiving on the last DLC unlike say...well Gabriel as he's a familiar face to you all. I'm not sure on this one. Maybe so. Maybe so. Or, everything could be opposite of what you have said. Its really hard to be presumptuous when it simply has yet to be seen. Looking back at every other trailer, I get the same vibe as you said. There could be bugs, there could be bad quests, but how will I know until I play it? And when I did play the other DLC's, they were each unique and well done. In my opinion, of course. And sometimes, there were annoying bugs as well.

A bit disdained by Jason B. feeling the best merits of Lonesome Road was weapons vs. The other 3 DLCs.

I see this point being dwelt upon by various people on places such as the NMA forums. I am a major fan of the first two games and the entirety of the lore, and if there is one thing that is learned by playing those games, weapons are obviously a major portion of the games. Sure, you can be a pacifist, but even I found that pretty hard when I would be wandering and a group of radscorpions would surround my character rendering him unable to move while I die (good thing companions existed though).

My point is, Guns are a major entity in the universe. People get their way with them through fear, and more importantly war. And the fact that the Divide holds what JB describes as the best DLC weapons, it seems to me this is more than a positive than a negative. Not only that, but its also a little disingenuous that we would judge JB's comment as negative from the get-go. Its also a little odd that his other descriptions for the DLC might not offend--DM for the gameplay, HH for the environment, and OWB for the Story, all of which have impact on the gameplay, but unfortunately, so do weapons as well.

We'll see though. At the least it'll be worth it. Mods ignored and Sawyer's little test pack of weapons for what he feels is a fair price, we're reaching the final road of the journey Obsidian has crafted for us my friends.

I also think its a fair price. A lot of people seem to think we should get it for free (and I'm not accusing you of this), which I think is patently absurd because Obsidian owes us nothing, but to be honest 4 dollars really isn't bad for weapons that will impact gameplay and will most certainly extend life in other playthroughs, especially when the models and textures we have been presented with thus far are of good quality.

The question is. Will we accept the job from the original Courier.

Seems like we don't have much of a choice! :P

And,

Nipton? I was thinking more of Primm, for some odd reason, that looks like an area near Goodsprings... the area the camera is at while looking at the clouds.

Look a little closer, the camera is angled looking from the Canyon Wreckage's direction, and the stone rampart from Primm is visible. It looks a little further off then that, but then again this is what I see anyway. Anything goes at this point.
